I am going to tell you something that might shock you. If a person or a child is hyper active a stimulant will have the opposite affect on them.
In other words, it will calm them down.

Isn't Ritalin a form of speed to a non hyper person, but to a person with ADHD it has a calming affect??

Never having been diagnosed with the faux disorder that is ADHD, I have no idea.

Yep...and what you say is correct in that ritalin is a form of amphetamine which has the opposite effect on hyperactive children.
