If you mean free him into the general prison population, II agree. If that's the case, he'll serve much less than 10 years. He'll be lucky to last 10 days. Even Leavenworth inmates don't like to see the reputation of our military dragged through the mud by sadistic perverts.
My brother was a newly-minted JAG involved (basically as a go-fer) in the My Lai case; he was telling me about all the people that considered Calley a hero, and I was incredulous (I was too young to remember at the time.)
Now I'm not as incredulous.

Frankly, I'd like to have him turned over to Iraqi justice. What he and his fellow perverts did in Abu Gharib undercut America's claims to be executing the war justly.
