Sorry I strongly disagree. I feel it was Allan Dulles who masterminded the Bay of Pigs (invasion of Cuba), while JFK weaseled out when he should have provided air cover. I also think that he wanted to aid the French which is what got us into Viet-Nam not the desire to confront communist spread, it was LBJ who first said: "we shall continue to oppose the spread of communism in Asia" - I'm afraid you bought into the superficial view of those presidents.

I believe you bought into the superficial intellect badge of a PHD. At least you can spell it, that's more than some MBAs can do.
You are quite informed but have molded some of the facts to fit your own leanings.
Join us for discourse. Don't pontificate; it's offensive to the intellects and professionals here.

Kennedy was a confrontationalist. He greatly expanded covert anticommunist activities all over the world. If you read many of his writings he was adamantly against communism. It wasn't until Nixon that the ideas of appeasement and detente were thrown around.
Of course Nixon also implemented price controls and the like, so I wouldn't call him a conservative.
All of this is why I call myself Oldleft. I feel that you're hung up on political parties and as such are confusing domestic policy with foreign policy.
