Not even a week in his new job, Howard Dean has already shot himself by making a racial comment about the Republican National Committee.
Dean joked: "You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room? Only if they had the hotel staff in here." The flap over Dean's "hotel staff" remark isn't the first time critics say he has crossed the line on race.
Dean made the comment in front of the Congressional Black Caucus, who didnt seem bothered by the racist comment because it came from a liberal. It was also okay because Dean has a black neighbor that was invited over to his garage ones.

When I first heard this statement by Dean, I thought for sure there would be an uproar. The implication is that "black folk" are only good for kitchen and waitstaff work. Where's the outrage?
To: govguy
I can't believe he would say that.
All "lets get him" aside, what an appalling offensive thing to say.

Can you
imagine the reaction if an RNC chairman said the same thing?
His head would be on a pike.

According to sources, Dean will dress in black face at this years Black History Month celebrations and sing folk songs about Ol Pappy. I could almost see him doing this too.....

You and I know that the Republican Party was the party for Civil Rights.
The Democrats are really showing themselves for who they are.
I wonder what Osama bin, Obama I mean OsamaObama thinks about this?

Why do I get the bad feeling Dean is using Mein Kamf as an instruction manual.

I'm sure he meant it as a term of endearment, just like Charlie Rangel.

If an RNC chairmen said this, We'd be lining up to put his head on a pike.
Thats the difference between the parties. They EXCUSE or IGNORE bad behavior. We don't.

It had to dawn on some of the members of the Congressional Black Caucus that Dean was implying blacks occupied the hotel staff. But it's okay, he's a Democrat.

sometimes I brazenly think the Repubs should parrot every single racist thing that Dems say, and when someone like Jesse Jackson starts spewing, we can just point to the quote and move on.......of course I'm not serious but if we alluded to the fact that hotel staff are of any one race, the walls would be coming down......I hate the liberal bias crap more and more everyday........it makes me relish their losses all the more

This guy has such a tin ear when it comes to truly "living with" ethnic minorities. It's just not something he has any experience with - particularly coming from Vermont. I fully expect him to blow it in this arena several more times. He will hyperextend himself into minority relations, and end up saying something like "some of my best friends are black" or "I love the music and dancing in black churches I visit."
To: govguy
Is he going to rub Obama's head for luck?

The democrats can say anything they want to about blacks and the black leadership will not act offended. Why? Because they are afraid of their masters on the plantation (the democrat party). What other reason could there be?

Some people are their own worst enemies when they open their mouths. Howard Dean is one of those people. But there are many others like him in many professions on the left. Another is Lovelady of
CJR. See below.

I wouldn't be surprized if Dean were a raging racist, given his past activity with Planned Eugenics Parenthood --

One day and it's already the "HOWARD DEAN SHOW". Dems will RUE the day they let this control freak take over the party.

Leadership says nothing to the Democrats because they will vote for Republicans regardless of what Dean says.
The last remaining strength for Democrats is in local elections---city, county, state reps. Nationally, the Dem base is just the re-juvenated Hippie fringe.
