"That doesn't mean we have to accept everything they say and do, but it does mean that we don't cut our own throats, or their's for some small disagreement."

A very important point that seems to be lost on too many.
"Together we stand, divided we fall."

I find it ironic that so many "Conservatives" like to engage in some sort of rightous indignation that they otherwise abhor in Liberals? LOL

I would not have a problem staying on a Connecticut ping list if it were used for Connecticut stuff.

Who hasn't stuck their foot right in their mouth at one time or another? He appologized, so let's get back to our mutual goal of spreading truth and conservatism. Let's close ranks and get back to whipping dim-o-cratic ass using nothing more than the truth. Senator Reid knows what I mean. His voting record makes for some easy targets moving forward on issues important to the President and the Republican Party.

I know I'm one of the fringe kooks because I think we should strengthen our boarders and stop this unabated flow of illegal immigrants.

I know I'm one of the fringe kooks because I think Bush's 150 federal programs isn't even a good start. We should shut down the NEA and the federal Dept. of Edumacation if we want to get a good start.

I know I'm one of the fringe kooks because I think we should drastically cut the size and scope of federal government.

I know I'm one of the fringe kooks because I supported Herman Cain for the U.S. Senate and thought putting another do-nothing Republican on the ballot "just because he would win" wasn't a good idea.

But I especially know I'm one of the fringe kooks because I think federal spending should be limited to nothing more than national defense and lighthouses. :-)

eyespy: How do you know you're one of the fringe kooks?

any mention of Freerepublic.com(especially on tv) would benefit our forum greatly

Especially if you think seeing trolls zotted benefits our forum greatly. I've found that press for FR generally leads to a spike in trolls (though not so much when the mention comes from Rush or Hannity)

I agree, but then the moderators would have to step in and control that. Nonetheless, you have to agree that publicity would benefit our voice greatly.

Certainly things like memogate rise FR above other similar forums in terms of legitimacy, and I think the more moderate conservatives who seek us out because of things like that eventually become more rabid in their conservatism (and that's a good thing). So yes, I suppose I agree with you, and Hannity certainly knows where to find the more moderate conservatives ...

Well, since I agree with you on all the points you listed, I guess that would make me a fringe kook too. I don't agree with everything that Hannity says, nor with Bush on everything, etc. and probably not with on other things.

I don't mean to belabor the point, however since I wasn't around at that time Hannity came here, I still don't understand why you believe you specifically would fall in the group he referred to. And at this point it really doesn't matter. All this began as conversation and I don't want it to escalate to more than that.

As I said in prior post, I really enjoy the exchanges and I read more than I post. I learn a lot and value this site for the info and educated insights of others (not that all fall in that category) and I sure don't want to be a pain in the posterior or make enemies. Please forgive my questioning, especially since I don't view your points as fringe but a good conservative. I assumed that what Hannity referred to were people who are way over the line and annoyingly so. I'm sure some less conservative would view us that way. Anyway, thanks for your explanation

If only Sean Hannity were a FReeper, he would know. However, he has held a grudge against folks here for years because of the way some of his friends were treated six years ago. I doubt that Sean cares much about how some of his friends have treated regular old Americans like the ones who call his show. Hope Sean doesn't give any of his loyal supporters the boot for associating with the FRinge. I know at least one of his friends has done so.

As for this college student's problem, the definitive work on the subject is Forrest McDonald's We the People: the Economic Origins of the Constitution.

I was amazed by Sean Hannity's second day response to the Free Republic trashing he did the day before. He is obviously trying to promote his own site by trashing what he sees as competition. He has not learned that the tactics of Tom Daschle and company do not work. What he did was very stupid.
