To put it simply, he is one of those people who have a hundred-dollar vocabulary and fifty-cent ideas.

I find that virtually everyone who thinks (as Pitt does) that evangelicals are a threat fits this category of pseudo-intellectual.

Actually, it's pretty interesting, Mr. Silverback; it's a doctoral thesis by some guy at the University of Minnesota in 1948--although there are a few places where he unkindly omitted to translate obscure medieval Norwegian phrases, perhaps assuming those judging the thesis already knew medieval Norwegian.

One wonders what ever happened to him; surely he is past 80 years old now, and not aware someone is reading him.

By the way, sir, whether you consider this a compliment or not, I find that of all the Free Republicans, you and I tend to see the most eye-to-eye on particular issues, especially moral, religious, and social ones.....odd, considering we are in wholly different parts of the country, and probably have utterly different backgrounds.

What a waste of an education. Lake Placid was about underdog amateurs dethroning a professional Soviet Hockey team with nothing but Heart. Pitt twists that into some sinister nationalism, to weave into his alternate reality.

Yeah, Lake Placid was like the Wisconsin Badgers football team beating a team made up of the cream of the NFL pro-bowlers, and Pitt looks at it and sees an American nuremburg rally. What a sad little man...

Several of my coworkers were celebrating that GWB would be the last Bush president and we sould soon be free of the Bush Empire - because the country won't go for Jeb so quickly after GWB.
