What God calls it
Correct. The sacrificing of innocent children is a very good example:
Leviticus Chapter 18:
verse 21 "And you shall not let any of your descendants pass through the fire to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the LORD."
verses 24-29 "Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. You shall therefore keep My statues and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you. For all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled. Lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. For whoever commits any of these abominations, the persons who commit them shall be cut off from amoung their people."
From New Kings James Version
God was telling the "Children of Israel" that the land He was giving them was not to be defiled by the acts those preceeding them had done. One example in verse 21 was child sacrifices. It is clear by the redundancy of the text that He was sterning warning them that they too would be "vomited out" for defiling the land. It is my belief this same principle holds true for the U.S. also. Abide these "abominations" and risk having the land "vomit you out." BTW - other "abominations" listed in the chapter include adultery, beastiality, homosexuality, incest, et. al.
