The mistery is deep. Found with Google using: Scientology "Terri Schiavo"

I doubt Michael S. spends much time in any church these days. Bigamy isn't too popular in mainline churches and he'd probably keep quiet about belonging to the Scientologists even if he was one while the case was ongoing. I've heard so far only unverified claims about his religious preferences.

I'm glad you found & posted this. I've heard this rumor before. In Catholic circles, Terri's situation is not new to us. We've been hearing about her plight for years. I had heard this rumor years ago. Her only eating 'disorder' was following some Scientology 'cleansing' ritual. A lot of this has not been mentioned in recent years and links are hard to find. Lisa McPherson's case was remarkably similar except she died right away, not 15 years later. Rumors (I'll be googling this, too) years ago were that Michael was into scientology and introduced her to it. She wanted to leave it but fell into her brain injured state. Michael is Lutheran (now?) I think, but his m.o. and responses to her state are certainly in line with their 'teachings'. And the other connections with Clearwater and the hospice and the attorney and judge, well, it's just too coincidental. It just gets worse.

Felos acts like a "clear" high-level Scieno: monotone, unfeeling, hyperpersistent argumentative style, like HAL 9000.

From your first link:
"While at FSU, Greer was a housemate of future Doors lead singer Jim Morrison, who transferred to the more academically demanding UCLA. Greer graduated from FSU in 1964,"
Jim Morrison was a better student than Greer! BWAHAHAHA!!

Petronski, maybe you remember some of the late 90's rumors about Michael's scieno involvement, as you are well informed on the scieno's? I've heard rumors of his involvement before, and that Terri's injuries were indeed the result of dieting, only it was one of the scientology cleansing diets, used on/by her because she wanted to bail on Scientology and return to Catholicism and he didn't want her to. I don't think he's (openly?) a Scientologist now.

Sadly, I don't have that information. I do know that the Scieno cleansing routines are very dangerous to the heart (basically, dehydrating the body and throwing the electrolytes out of whack). Beyond that, I don't know.

That cult does have a totalitarian mindset, and is litigious and vicious. Their views on this issue about "euthanasia," or whatever the correct term is, are a bit vague as presented, and I have no independent knowledge about that. And Jeb praising their "good works" efforts just goes to show he doesn't know enough about the cult. Cults often have good works efforts as front organizations, if only to infiltrate and ingratiate themselves with additional cohorts of potential victims of their brain washing, which in the case of this cult, is highly honed and effective. It also buys them respectibility for those who don't know better, or want their money. It is a win, win for them.
I know I sound a bit extreme here, unusual for me, but we have had litigation against this bunch in our office. So I know something about their MO, up close and personal. I have not religious, but with this cult, I have hesitation in using the word "evil." None.
And there you have it.

Errata note: "I have
no hesitation in using the word "evil. None."
I hate when that happens.
