Dan Rather, making his first TV appearance since leaving the CBS Evening News, said on the April first edition of 60 Minutes/Wednesday, Finally, a personal note. Partisan political operatives drove me from my rightful place as anchor of the CBS Evening News, alleging, without proof, that our story on President Bushs evasion of his National Guard service was somehow based on quote, fraudulent, unquote, memos. Following in the footsteps of O.J. Simpson, I am committing to you here tonight that I will go to any rodeo, to any part of the Earth, to track down proof of the authenticity of the memos. No matter what youve heard from fanatics on the right, I still stand by the accuracy of the story.

The "operatives" Rather alludes to was the eagle-eyed FReeper, "Buckhead", an Atlanta lawyer named Harry MacDougald, who questioned the authenticity of the fraudulent National Guard documents less than four hours after Dan Rather and CBS released them.
What chutzpah, "Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?"
Did he really say that?
But it was actually published on 1 April!
: - )
you are kidding right. I do not believe he would mention OJ in any context.
April Fools
LOL. We've sent another liberal to the loonie bin. Gotta love it!
Maybe he and O.J. can car pool.
No way.
I'll bet he's one of those who claimed O.J. was framed, though. An evil white, rich, Christian male who votes Republican HAD to have done it.
Was this from The Onion? Or perhaps "The Leaking Leek"? Maybe it's from "The Shallow Shallot"?
Oh, ha ha, I am so funny!
Gee ... I didn't know Blather was a golfer. Seriously though, while Dan is arrogant, stubborn, and out of touch with reality, this is over the top. Definitely an April fool prank.
Go Dan you stand up for yourself no matter what the proof
is. You da man!
What BS!
nof said.
Nope, I don't think so. Rather is trying to keep his dignity, but he's obviously seething that the dreaded conservatives busted him. I don't think he's in the mood to joke about it.
I'll keep the secret(just stay away from Bozell).8^)
This is a joke.
Satire.
LOL
If interest rates rise as expected, experts say the wave of foreclosures will mean thousands of families joining the ranks of the nation's homeless"
ABC's Robin Roberts..GOOD MORNING AMERICA
THat was his April Fools joke for us, guys! Come on!
Or maybe he's the fool...
Hmmmmm?? I think GOD already addressed this issue in Galations 6:3:
"For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
