I've had Cubans. They're no better than a Dominican Padron Anniversario, the sweetest cigar known to man.
You are silly!
If cuban cigars were leagal, it wouldn't be nearly as fun figuring out how to get them! And they wouldn't tatse 1/2 as good! And they wouldn't have nearly the power to impress people in your life as you quietly show off your 'savvy' in getting a relatively harmless contraband - and sexy women dig a slightly shady guy!
Make cuban cigars legal and they simply become a whole lot less fun!
This belongs in Breaking News!
I'm with ya buddie...if you ever get down to Tucson I'll show you a great smoking bar right over the border in Nogalas.
I get my Cubans from Vancouver, Canada.
over 60% of cigars sold IN CUBA labeled as Cuban cigars, are not indeed Cuban. They are packaged in the official manufacturers packaging. Castro makes a mint off it. So today, even Cuban cigars smuggled into the US directly from Cuba, are not guaranteed to be Cuban.
Imagine allowing Castro to ramp up production of Honduran (and elsewhere) grown Cuban seed tobacco, ship it to Cuba, have it wrapped and packaged, then sold to stupid gringos for several hundred percent markup.
Same cigar wrapped by contracted Honduran (or elsewhere) growers' private labels cost much less NOW and still would post-ban, not go through an extra shipping journey, and not support Fidel and Raoul Castro.
To top it off, Cuba just implemented a draconian anti-smoking law.
Like another poster, I think many that turn up here claiming Cuban origins aren't.
While I certainly enjoyed that Monte Cristo down in Mexico years ago, I'll stick with my Macanudo or Artero Fuente, thank you!

Quality has really suffered under the communists. A box might contain 50% really good, 25% good, 15% okay and the rest almost unsmokeable. They are highly overated.
