The United States is currently embroiled in a national debate over the Social Security program of the nation. This national debate is being initiated and fueled by President George W. Bush because he aptly thinks that something needs to be changed.
President Bush correctly stresses that the Democrat Party has been successful in growing the system into an American version of socialism. Like all prior socialistic programs in the past, it is too top heavy and will soon collapse under its own financial weight. He is traveling all around the nations speaking to anyone that will listen to him that we must take action now.
The President has enlisted most rational thinking national economist to his cause. He has recruited business executives from large and small industries to his side. All of these individuals are trained and experienced in making the hard decisions of economic solvency. Everyone that is aware of the problem agrees that in only twelve years the current system will be paying out more than it takes in.
The President's major thrust is to get the federal government out of the national welfare business (socialism) and let each individual make his or her own decisions as to what is best for themselves (individualism).
The President is promising:
* No cuts for current retirees or anyone born before 1950.
* Eeach younger individual will be better off by making decisions that work best for him or her.
* If an individual does not spend all his assets in his lifetime that they should be passed on to his heirs.
* There are many options available, and that the Congress needs to start writing legislation to make these changes - NOW.
All the time that President Bush is working so hard to initiate some constructive action on the complex Social Security problem your Democrat Party has decided to use the KISS principal. For those of you who may not be aware what the KISS principal is let me explain. KISS is an acronym for "Keep It Simple, Stupid."
Your Democrats Party knows that a subject as important as an individual's retirement requires individuals to "think." Likewise the Democrat Party also feels that most Americans should not think for themselves because it is too hard for most to undertake.
So your Democrat Party has a much simpler solution: Simply raise taxes and do nothing else.
Individuals will not need to think and plan for their future. That monumental task will be better done by official government planners in Washington, DC. All Americans need do is just pay their taxes and "someone" in the government will take care of them for as long as the government sees fit.
The Democrats KISS principal: Raise taxes and depend on a "benevolent bureaucracy" for all of your needs. As a very famous Socialist- Democrat once said: "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." ..... If you do not know who this famous Democrat was please ask.
