"Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist Send Letters of Support to "Hamas Front," a press release from Americans Against Hate:
(Coral Springs, FL) On May 28, 2005, the Florida Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-FL) held its annual banquet at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The fundraiser asked patrons to help in the establishment of a CAIR office in Orlando. While they did not attend the event, numerous high-ranking local and state government officials, including the Governor of Florida Jeb Bush, sent letters of support to CAIR.
Governor Bush's letter stated, "It is a great pleasure to extend greetings and best wishes to all attending the Florida Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-FL) annual banquet." The letter goes on to say, "I commend your contributions to the protection of civil rights and freedom of religion." And it concludes with, "Once again, congratulations on your accomplishments and my warmest greetings and best wishes on your continuing success."
Also sending a letter to CAIR was Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist. Crist's letter stated, "Thank you for your kind invitation to attend the CAIR Annual Banquet on May 28, 2005. Unfortunately, previous commitments will keep me from joining you." And it ends, "I extend best wishes for a wonderful event Sincerely, Charlie Crist."
In addition, letters of support were sent from Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, FBI Special Agent Robert E. Haley, Florida State House Representative David Mealor, State Attorney Lawson Lamar, and Orange County Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles.
CAIR is currently the defendant in a multi-billion dollar lawsuit filed by the family of former FBI counter-terrorism chief John O'Neill, who lost his life during the September 11th attacks. United States Senator Chuck Schumer said that CAIR has "intimate links with Hamas," and "ties to terrorism." Steven Pomerantz, former FBI assistant director and chief of the FBI's Counter-Terrorism Section, stated, "CAIR, its leaders, and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups" and "CAIR originated from the Hamas front group, Islamic Association for Palestine, and has evolved into a propaganda arm for Hamas and other militant fundamentalists."
Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH) stated, "Our organization expresses its deep disappointment that our state's leaders would send letters of support to a group such as CAIR. We find it especially counterproductive, during our country's war against terrorism. We ask all those that sent letters of support to retract the statements made in those letters."
This is no better than a naive governor during WWII sending a letter of support to the Nazi's US front German-America BUND!

Why oh why are the Bushes such apologists for Saudi inspried Wahhabism?
Why oh why are the Bushes such apologists for Saudi inspried Wahhabism?
------
Because they are scared to death of the POLITICAL (economic) consequences of a big tiff with the Saudis and oil pump lines. It makes me sick. All of Washington is making me sick. They quit working FOR the American people decades ago.
This post was originally supposed to be entered under News/Activism, but as it is a Press Release, why it got filed under bloggers/personal threads, I have no idea and am a bit distressed.
Bush sends troops into Iraq while the right hand man of the ruler of Saudi Arabia (Prince Abdullah) exhorts young Saudi men to go to Iraq and kill US Troops.
He's captured on video doing this, with Abdullah sitting right next to him.
Then, Bush kisses Abdullah, holds his hand, calls him "friend" and a "great ally on the WoT."
Makes me want to puke.
Hopefully his letter of support the the moslem groups will be as effective as his letters of support to Terri Shiavo.
Hey Jeb, wishing CAIR and the organizations they support "continued success" is essentially wishing for the destruction of the United States and western civilization.
'Lucy, you got some 'splainin' to do!
Is it just possible that these 'warmest greetings' folks know something about CAIR that the rest of us don't? If so, I'd like to hear it. This stuff goes beyond diplomacy.
Jeb, the media's favorite up there with McCain, isn't so sweet after all.
CHARLIE CRIST SUPPORTS HAMAS. Vote for Tom Gallagher for Governor in the primaries. (I had a chat with Crist a few years back about terrorism. Unfortunately, I remember it well and he is now supporting CAIR. Tom Gallagher is an original. Crist is trying to be a Jeb copycat. Say no to Crist for Gov.
I bet the Sami Al Arian case in Tampa Federal Court is already fixed so that he'll get acquitted but Terri Schiavo was exterminated.
This thank you letter is right at trial of Al Arian. It's not a coincidence. Al Arian knows the Bushes.
Jeb can't pat himself on the back for protecting civil rights and freedom of religion due to recent events but he's going to commend Hamas via CAIR. GOP donations must be down.
The Bushbots here must be frazzled these days because freepers aren't in lock step with them.
And they dismiss his low approval ratings (as if they matter) as "Pollster spin" or "manipulative questioning."
Heck, if I were polled, I'd give Bush a big fat "DISAPPROVAL."
I wrote back:
GW calls our patiotic Minutemen "vigilantes"
Then he campaigns for the re-election of RINOs Specter and Chafee
And now Jeb Bush even sends congratulations to Hamas' US terrorist front group CAIR.
Guess what.
NOT ONE MORE DIME! until GW and Jeb Bush publically apologize to the American people for these anti-Republican and even anti-American outrages!

What consequences? None that a proper application of neutron weapons wouldn't cure.
Those who spend huge amounts of money and effort promoting war against America, and fund terrorist attacks against America have, to use a Biblical expression, "sown the wind". Those who have so done may expect the whirl wind.
Hopefully, in another generation, school children will be asking "Teacher, what was an Arab?"
