your appeal to the left's ethical compass assumes that it has one.... I've seen little evidence that it does.
Of course the left has a moral compass! But it doesn't point North, it points away from truth.

But even though I advocate opposing Hillary in the primary, the intention is not to appeal is to the left (Democratic primary voters) but to the persuadable "muddle in the middle." An 18-year-old first-time voter in 2008 was ten in 1998 and five in 1993 when Filegate came down. Ask that 18-year-old who enforces the law in this country. Then ask what he thinks of and Administration where a thousand politically motivated felonies were committed in the WH basement and no one was punished. And ask what kind of a political party that would nominate a person who was in the White House to be the ultimate authority on enforcing the law.

You have to teach, and teaching can be hard. But in the face of the propaganda wind that objective journalismTM puts at her back, running around trying to hold Hillary accountable for the miriad things that she has deniability for just seems to be a fool's errand.

We should equate Hillary with Robert Torricelli, and the national Democratic Party with the NJ Democratic Party that renominated him knowing that he was a crook. One thing for New York or the New Jersey Democratic Party to nominate crooked senators, but for the national Democratic Party to consider nominating a known crook to be the chief law enforcement officer of the country is more than the nation should stand for.

President Bush is the chief law enforcement officer; the Attorney General works for him. But he is not willing to meddle in the affairs of the Democratic Party, and he probably should not do so. It is up to we-the-people to hold the Democratic Party to account if it nominates a ruthless person to the position of highest authority in the country. We cannot sit idly by with the thought that she would lose and our side would win if she were nominated; we must point out from the gitgo that no one who supports Hillary for president deserves the trust of the American public.

We are on the same page about the need to "teach."

I think the Torricelli analogy breaks down, tho. The Democratic Party had a choice with Torricelli. The jackboot-thug clintons have arrogated the party as its own. The party has no choice short of coup, (which I don't doubt is being planned on some level. They aren't all a bunch of Anita Loweys....)

As the primaries approach, look for leaks about clinton corruption to come from the left. I suspect many democratic-party loyalists are as repulsed by the clintons as we are....
