That would be good, wouldn't it? The Maritimes are cool, but they are fairly fiscally liberal for the record. Socially conservative (Halifax, where I go to school, is the biggest city in the Maritimes and does not allow Sunday shopping) though.

That's that Scotch Presbyterian outlook cropping up.

George MacDonald Fraser once asked a "Wee Free" corporal in his company how he could bring himself to kill Japanese on the Sabbath. He replied that it was a work of necessity and mercy . . .

Don't see how the Maritimes could be part of Canada without acquiring some fiscally liberal policies, in self defense if nothing else. They may well be conservative in comparison with Massachusetts and Maine, though.
