I kid you not, two days ago I heard an announcement over our PA system at work refer to an "Aquanetta". Named after a woman's hair care product?

The list of the 20 whitest girl names looks like the roster of many travelling soccer teams.

Oh, my goodness! I KNOW someone named Trygve! (Or at least I used to.) He's probably in his early 20s now.

My grandmothers both had unusual names: Gilla and Isola. Isola had a sister named Alura (who married a guy named Rome).

Great! How about an all-star list of athlete names? You know...what to name your future NFL Hall of Fame sons, etc. ;)

(Kudos to the parents of Deke Bake, DT, Texas Tech for a great football name pick...and think of all the funny ones they could've come up with.)

My Great-grandmother, who was born in 1875 and died at the age of 99, was named Matilda Bellezora. Everyone called her "Belle."

What is a race neutral name?

Where does Horacious Bonar fit in? I know where it usually fits in. {snicker}

When we lived in Baltimore, my wife worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital (downtown) and she treated a young black girl named "Fallopian". The girl's mother heard it at the OB/GYN's office and thought it sounded pretty.

My wife also called for a girl named "Tane" in the waiting room and pronounced it with one syllable and a long "A". She was then cussed out by this girl for "f***ing up my name" and said it was pronounced "TA-ney" and "the "e" was silent". My wife's response was "Whatever..." Tane reported my wife's racist attitude to the HR department and it was quite a stink.

My mom worked for County Services/ welfare in LA. Had a list of funny names she ran across, including -- you guessed it -- Latrina!! She had one client whose name was (wish I could remember precisely) Michael or something. They had named BOTH their sons the same name -- "It's so easy. When you call, they all come." hahaha.

Let's not forget Lexus, Mercedes and Porsche (I know, it should be Portia, but I've seen it spelled the former way too many times).

I don't think I need to note which columns those names appear in.
