Wow. What a great article.

That's pretty much how I see it too. What has INFURIATED me as much as anything else is how the media has tried to pit race against race against this.

The left wants to see America divided, so they can assume power and act as "referrees" and rulers. If everyone turned the sound off their TVs and just saw the video of what was actually happening, minus the incendiary commentary, you would see America in one of its finest hours: people of all races helping people of all races, in the aftermath of the greatest natural disaster in our lifetimes.

It is in fact a great outpouring of love and support, and the media can't stand this. THEY want to say America is horrible and racist and oppressive to those down on their luck. It is so transparent.

When they interview the people in Reunion Arena here in Dallas, the people are GRATEFUL, as they SHOULD be. One lady said, "Texas has been here for us, baby. We love you."

I have seen it with my own eyes, lines of cars waiting to give everything they can to the evacuees. It hurts our hearts to see people in the situation they find themselves in.

And for the media to outright lie about us and try to divide us when we are doing all we can, it sickens me. And for that idiotic fool Fred Reed to say things like "That's just how blacks are, there's no hope for them." I will explain it in one word: evil.

It is a cultural beakdown in New Orleans, and I don't know what the explanation is. Probably a culture of people who have been promised everything by the government and then when it breaks down, anarchy rules. But it has NOTHING to do with race. It is "tribes" like the guy said.

And another thing I will say: it irks me when some Freepers gratuitously throw in some racial comment when mentioning Mayor Nagin - i.e. "feets don't fail me now" accompanied by a picture of Buckwheat from the Little Rascals. What Mayor Nagin did or did not do has zero to do with his race.

And I think the Mayor is one of the most incompetent blamethrowers I have ever seen. A complete jerk, going into his "homey from the hood" voice to identify himself with his "peeps" against the Man. At least that's what I think he's doing. He's playing the same "race card" I'm talking about.

I hope I am not misunderstood with anything I have said.

Well worth the long read. As good a analysis on human nature as I've read in a while.

Wow! Just wow. I know I probably shouldn't be, but I am always in awe of anyone who can gather their thoughts together long enough to transcribe 'em in such a fluid way. Color me amazed.

There are just too many excellent observations in this piece to even comment on, let alone improve upon. There is one item that struck me:

Also, unlike so many in the ‘reality-based’ community, I do not believe in a deity. For instance, I don’t believe that a single god-king can summon storms, hypnotize entire populations and be the focus for evil in the world.

For someone with the ability to write with such moral clarity, it seems incongruous, but not impossible, to me. I'm not altogether sure I understand his point except that maybe he meant to say that he didn't believe that God could be the target for d'evil in the world. I would submit he may be more right than wrong about that; God's people are the target. Since God cannot be defeated d'evil must choose a lesser opponent. Anyway, as a matter of curiosity, I wonder what percentage of the sheep, sheepdogs and wolves are believers/non believers???

~ping~ to a couple Freepers involved with me in a similar discussion re TRIBES, and a few others I wouldn't want to miss this masterpiece. Apologies for any duplicate pings.

Outstanding Article!

Understand that there is nothing morally superior about being a sheepdog; it is just what you choose to be. Also understand that a sheepdog is a funny critter: He is always sniffing around out on the perimeter, checking the breeze, barking at things that go bump in the night, and yearning for a righteous battle. That is, the young sheepdogs yearn for a righteous battle. The old sheepdogs are a little older and wiser, but they move to the sound of the guns when needed right along with the young ones.

Thanks for the ping!

"Thanks! I have a new tagline."

Capitalist. :o)

"Oprah: Nation Owes Flood Victims an Apology..."

Oh well, blubber-baby speaketh so we'd all best hop to it, huba-huba-huba!

"Kinda spooky in it's timeliness, isn't it?"

Oh, I dunno.
Poverty pimps have *always* been attracted to misery like green bottle flies to rotting carrion.
In that respect this ones timing's about right.

But "spooky" it's not.

...*obnoxious*, it is.

My *same* reaction.

My *same* impression.
Amazin...hey now, you readin' my mind? {g}

I don't *think* Whittle's referring to "The" God, I think he's trying to be sarcastic.
It's GWB he's talking about, my friend.

Think: given what the Liberal-Socialists have tried pinning on this POTUS?
He *must* be a "god", he'd have to be a "god".
Only one with godly powers could direct hurricanes, fool -- at least half -- an entire population *&* be the focus *for* evil in the [entire] world all at the same time, eh? :o)
Read that part again with that in mind & I *think* you'll see it.

Of course I could be wrong.

...but I doubt it. ;^)

Yup. You're dead on. I took it entirely out of context.

And I was raggin' on somebody just yesterday about comprehension skills.

The Bush/Rove "deity duet" is something to behold.

"The Bush/Rove "deity duet" is something to behold."

Well I'll tell you one thing right here & now.
The endless smears, slanders & potshots at the POTUS over the NO debacle's going to backfire, bigtime.
People are rapidly becoming fed-up with the quisling mediots, I mean it.

Just who in the hell do these Liberal-Socialist urinalistic imbuciles think they're playing to?

People are sick of it & there's apt to be a revolt -- of some kind -- at any moment.

...just watch. ;^)

I've been asking myself the same question. My thoughts ran to this media circus now being performed for the rest of the world since it doesn't seem to have converted many here. It would be within their MO and true to form to portray us to the rest of the world as bumbling dolts who, on a good day, couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time. Just a thought.

"I've been asking myself the same question."

Now how'd I know you'd be thinking something similar?
I mean a mind-reader I ain't. {g}

"My thoughts ran to this media circus now being performed for the rest of the world..."

Yea well I hope the quislings in "Circulation Depts" across the nation are successful securing subscriptions from 3rd-worlders, is all I can say.

The immense volume of bile pumped into the collective minds & souls of the entire nation must be expelled.
When it's puked out It'll manifest in a *variety* of ways, all to the detriment of these quisling bloodsuckers be they print or broadcast.
Watch.

"Just a thought."

And a damned good one, as usual. ;^)

Now here's something for *you* to think about.
Lyrics to a song written some *28* (or so) years ago I dug up after giving Whittle's themes a bit of thought.
Have at 'em, my friend:

Sheep
Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away; Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.
You better watch out, there may be dogs about!
I've looked over Jordan, and I have seen
Things are not what they seem.

What do you get for pretending the danger's not real?
Meek and obedient you follow the leader down well trodden corridors into the valley of steel.
What a surprise!
A look of terminal shock in your eyes.
Now things are really what they seem.
No, this is no bad dream.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by.
With bright knives He releaseth my soul.
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places.
He converteth me to lamb cutlets,
For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger.
When cometh the day we lowly ones, through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate
Lo, we shall rise up, and then we'll make the bugger's eyes water.

Bleating and babbling I fell on his neck with a scream. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.

Have you heard the news?
The dogs are dead!
You better stay home and do as you're told.
Get out of the road if you want to grow old.

--------------------

Interesting, no?
Prescient, absolutely.

Methinks it may very well be the source.

...of Mr.Whittle's inspiration.

Pink Floyd, eh? Never listened to 'em much, even back in their heyday. They were a little far out there for my tastes even when I was young and foolish(now I'm just old and foolish). Merle Haggard was da man ;^)

As far as the inspiration; could certainly be a part. BUT, if he hangs around FR(I suspect he does) he could have picked up much of the theme from just two or three threads I happened to hit upon. The added value he is able to lend to these themes is a talent that few have. I'm just glad he is(apparently) on our side.

"Pink Floyd, eh?"

I *am* impressed.

"Never listened to 'em much, even back in their heyday."

Didn't quite fit in with the piny woods of east Texas, huh.
That's alright.

"They were a little far out there for my tastes even when I was young and foolish(now I'm just old and foolish)."

Any further out [there] than today's Liberal-Socialists, their party of treasonous frauds & the quislings staffing their "Media Arm", The Associated Quislings?
>?<
Kidding aside, I understand completely.
Still, one day you *must* sit yourself down & carefully listen to what these guys had to say on certain social issues?
Prescient, indeed.

"Merle Haggard was da man"

Still is.
But as I've grown variety's proved time & again it really *is* the spice of life. ;^)

"As far as the inspiration; could certainly be a part."

His analogies, very similar with a few *minor* adjustments?

"BUT, if he hangs around FR(I suspect he does) he could have picked up much of the theme from just two or three threads I happened to hit upon. The added value he is able to lend to these themes is a talent that few have. I'm just glad he is(apparently) on our side."

He is.
Lando's posted Whittle's musings before, same vein although with *this* last writing?
Bill's exceptionally pissed off.

...& I can't blame 'em a *bit*.
