Michael Moore Claims Cindy's Group Has Delivered 100 Tons Of Supplies For Katrina Relief
Sweetness & Light ^ | September 13, 2005 | N/A

Posted on 09/13/2005 1:49:54 PM PDT by Sam Hill

Notorious propagandist, Michael Moore claims in this report that more than 100 tons of supplies have been delivered by the Veterans For Peace helping with hurricane Katrina relief.

If so, this is news to the person who owns and operates the mini-storage the VFP are working out of. She says she has seen no large deliveries, no tractor-trailers, no massive quantities of supplies. She reports she has only seen a few small (private) trucks go back and forth and a few boxes around.

But Michael Moore claims he has the photos to prove it:

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005
Cindy Sheehan Arrives

The supplies keep rolling in at Camp Casey III in Covington, Louisiana.

Cars, trucks, buses are loaded up in the morning and sent off in different directions. They are told not to come back until everything is gone, and they don't come back until everything is gone.

You, dear reader, can help their efforts by sending supplies, housing volunteers, or volunteering yourself. Check VFPRoadTrips.org and the message board there to get involved.

Cindy Sheehan arrives at Camp Casey III in about half an hour.

“My efforts for these last weeks since we left Camp Casey, in Crawford have been about standing up against the inept policies of the Bush Admin and about helping people who are suffering because of those policies,“ Sheehan said. “The good citizens of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are certainly among this group, and I want to do whatever I can to be of assistance to them,”

Volunteers at Camp Casey III have already delivered over 100 tons of food and supplies to communities in Louisiana and Mississippi that had seen no relief until they arrived.

They are working with community leaders in some areas; in other areas, they are simply delivering food, water, and other supplies to individuals. Yesterday they delivered 20 tons of supplies to the neighborhoods of West Bank, Algiers, lower gardens and French Quarter in New Orleans and Bay St. Louis and Kiln, Mississippi.

Cindy will spend the day with the Veterans for Peace and the volunteers at Camp Casey III delivering supplies.

More to come...

Of course even these photos only show one "truckload" of supplies, taken from two different angles. And there is nothing to identify it with the VFP's purported efforts at all.

But since the woman who runs the storage center the VFP are using says she's seen none of this, where are these photographs from, Michael?

And while were on the subject, where are these "Camp Casey kitchens" you say you want to keep cooking on the front page of your truth-seeking site?

All the VFP have is their bus and their storage unit. And they have been told to leave their storage unit, and are looking for a new place.

Hm.. Well, if they really have been sending piles of stuff for Katrina relief, then I guess we should say "good job."

I'd also like to see how they got to Bay St. Louis since entry into the town has been blocked by barbed wire since last Thursday.

The last FIVE times I've been in the local Blockbuster, I've wanted to rent FahrenHYPE 911. It's been out every time.

However, Fahrenheit 911 has been on the rack 4 of the last 5 times I've been there...

100 tons is only 4 truckloads which is possible. Good for them. It is not worth crowing about.

Maybe, maybe not.

If it's true, however, complaining about it is nothing but sour grapes and just plain bad form.

1.) 100 tons in one semi? Man them roads are ruined, not to mention the semi.

2.) Nobody left in NO who needs it. They are all in Houston and other places.

Maybe they should have put this effort into sending care packages to the troops
they purport to care so much about.

The chances of this being true are so vanishingly small, it is astonishing they would make such a claim in the first place.

Unless they consider Michael Moore to be "supplies", in which case 100 tons is an underestimate.

Excellent point that is always left out of the left's propoganda. Not only have taxpayers been sacked with the bill for the recovery, but we've already paid for what was there and the tons of food paid for with food stamps. Our benevolent society has always "relieved" people......of their responsibilities.

"I'd also like to see how they got to Bay St. Louis since entry into the town has been blocked by barbed wire since last Thursday."

-- that's easy: ignore the barbed wire, just like the truth.
