Well aside from this discussion, you'll see as time goes on, how the local and state government failed and failed big time in establishing law and order early, getting supplies, etc.

I did him a favor. He doesn't even realize it.

Of course. Of course. Keep up the smokescreen.

I ask again: was the US military policy of shooting (or hanging) deserters a Nazi policy or not?

Are you truly unable to answer that simple question?

You're so right about that.

Nagin and Blanco have no future in politics. Be sure of that.

The Superdome was a living and dieing hell and none of us know what we would have done under such conditions.

I know what I would have done. I would have brought a good supply of books, booklights, and food. Then having once arrived I would have done my damndest to stay safe and civilized. The damage that was done at the Superdome is inexcuseable. Animals behave better than that. The people that did that damage deserve to be horsewhipped and executed. They obviously aren't fit to be in society. They're vermin!

Yes, all the bleach in the world cannot cleanse the stench left behind by the failure of leadership and the black thugs preying upon the innocent and defenseless.

I think the word "black" could be omitted from your post, but not due to any form of liberalism. Thuggery is defined by behavior. The failure of leadership is defined by behavior. Both are reprehensible, and both deserve swift, sure, and strong punishment.

Black is defined by pigment. Not all blacks in the superdome acted thuggishly. All thugs did.

Just my $.02.

I agree with you about Nagin. The fact that he has relocated to Dallas is proof.

But Blanco seems to be angling better and dodging much of her well-deserved blame.

'Fat-Ankles' taught her the 'Pity Me, I'm a Woman!' shtick pretty good. It's sooooo obvious she's been coached by the DNC since Katrina made that right-hand turn toward NOLA.

"Summary executions have been practiced since time immemorial."

A pity it wasn't practiced on you.

Looking to also join the All-Star lineup over at CP?

What's CP?

If summary execution is such a wonderful practice because of its lengthy pedigree, why not volunteer to be the executionee?

LOL!

Since you're advocating rape, robbery and murder in general, I won't take this personal insult to heart.

I appreciate the tenor of your reply and do not take exception to your lucid argument. However, the anecdotal evidence is that the thugs that preyed upon those in the dome were black. It is just a simple fact.

You'll notice that innocent and defenseless was not preceded by any qualifier, because the victims included members of all races including those of color.

Too often in modern society we feel the need to leave some empty spots in a story out of the desire not to offend.

Part of my instinct to leave the skin color out of it stems from the fact that I have not watched much of the coverage, reading only second-hand reports in places like FR. If you have been paying more attention, I am sure you have a better basis for jour judgement.

I would point out that you stated that you were relying on anecdotal evidence, which can be problematic, especially when filtered through other folks' lenses.

At any rate, thank you for a thoughtful response. Have a terrific day. (Do you mind if I tell you what kind of day to have? ;-)

No, I'm advocating applying your standard as a universal law.

I indeed do not take umbrage at your kind wish for me to enjoy a good day. In reply, knowing that you will not take exception, I wish you the same.

FR is a repository of soft spoken citizens which possess much wisdom, a sense of fairness and love of country, I consider you to be in that select group.

No, I wasn't surprised at their actions. If the people wanted to live in crap up to their necks, they succeeded. But if they wanted to try to survive in a better environment, the old sayings, 1) If there is a will, there is a way. and 2) those who give a sh*t, don't sleep in it. I I upset you in any way, I'll tell you want my parents used to tell me, "build a bridge and get over it". Have a great day. AP

You upset me in no way so there is nothing for me to get over. I merely pointed out some of the realities of the situation and the failures of the local authorities to exercise even minimal planning and judgment.
