AFTERMATH OF KATRINA (MUST READ -- LIVE ACCOUNT)
e-mail news from Mississippi | 15 September 2005 | David A. Millican

Posted on 09/15/2005 5:29:19 PM PDT by MeneMeneTekelUpharsin

To my friends and family:

What I have seen since Katrina:

The poor and the wealthy hurt by the storm Black, White, Hispanic, Oriental and Indian all hurt by the storm. Christian people giving, giving, giving. Churches going all out to minister in Jesus' name. Neighbors going door to door helping one another. Thugs and hoodlums going door to door looking for someone vunerable. Ice and water being fought over as police tried to keep the peace. People coming up from New Orleans taking over empty houses because shelters are full. Out of town volunteers coming with food and staying for now a week still serving it. The Churches all over this part of the country doing what Christians do in a crisis.

FEMA doing a wonderful job in getting help to us. The red Cross doing a great job in the shelters. The Salvation Army doing a great job in the community. Four Hundred crewman from everywhere bring back the power to our homes, churches and businesses. Lines at service stations a block to a mile long. National Guardsman patrolling the streets of Mccomb along with Kentucky policemen protecting us from the hoodlums and thugs from McComb, Pike County and New Orleans (the most dangerous city in the world before Katrina.). Drug dealers working outside shelters. Doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel working tirelessly, even sleeping in the hospital to do the job God called them to do.

WHAT I HAVE NOT SEEN:

The ACLU setting up a feeding line. People for the American Way helping in the shelters. The NAACP doing any work whatsoever. The American Atheist organization serving meals in the shelters. Jesse Jackson directing traffic at the gas stations.

I could go on but you get my message. Its the Christian people with love and compassion who do the work. The gripers in Congress should come on down and get in line to pass the water and the ice. Are you listening Hillary, Chuck, Teddy and all the sorry loafers we call Senators and Congressmen? They don't have a clue as to what this life is all about here on the gulf coast.

Boy I feel better now.

I am at a loss for words. Beautifully written and a true and original letter from someone at ground zero.

So true - Christian organizations and individuals from all over the country are pitching in to help these people. God bless them.

And where IS the ACLU, etc.???? Blaming Bush!

Nice letter, but the part about Jesse is suspect unless the TV trucks were getting gassed up.

I don't think that's such a bad thing.
But, maybe it's just me...;o)

This needs to stay in the NEWS category. Oh well, the MSM will get THEIR story across.

Wish Rush Limbaugh would read this on his show. This is a stinging rebuke to all the leftists!

A nice letter, summarizing the things that you will NEVER hear on the MSM.

This is perfect. I would love to see this letter taken out as a full page ad in every major newspaper in the country.

If only I had the money. The media could look this man up and verify that he wrote this and that in fact he saw the things he said he saw. I'm waiting...

You're in for a long wait, if you expect the media to pick up on this.

To Whom it May or May Not Concern:

David A Millican is hardly the voice of generation, but rather one mans' opinion. For him to take swipes at the ACLU, NAACP, Jesse Jackson et al is not surprising but certainly not necessary.

Discrimination and hate is the province of ignorance and a poverty of spirit.

Once the box lunches and chain-saws are retired in McComb, Reverend David A. Millican will continue to preach and spread his personal doctrine of intolerance an indifference. For now, his voice only divides the community of McComb, a small town (90 miles from the gulf) that is already squabbling over who deserved a box of green bananas, a case of MRE's and a five hundred dollar check from the Red Cross.

Millicans' voice is no help.

The destruction of Katrina was an 'Act Of God' . How one responds is an 'Act Of Love and Humanity'. Milican exhibits neither quality by his tirade that is both self congratulatory and inflammatory. Regardless of one's personal denomination or belief system, this catastrophe can only be healed by 'acts of humanity'.

Reverend Millican needs to get off the cross and let somebody else use the wood.

Sincerely,

Bill Tyler

You only deserve a "woe" upon your head:

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

Millican wrote with exactness about what was happening. You are the bigot who hates the truth. Unless you repent, your end is going to be unspeakably horrible. If you wish to revile against what the Word of God teaches about people, have at it. I'm not interested in doing that nor reading your opinions. And, you don't have to read my posts.
