Who Elected President Bush (And Supports His Choice For Scotus)?
Captain's Quarters Blog Comment ^ | 11 October 2005 | msdl5

Who elected Bush?

Not Minnesota, not Michigan, not Wisconsin, not Maine, not Vermont, not New Hampshire, not Conneticut, not Massachusets, not New York, not Pennsylvania, not Delaware, not DC, not Illinois, not California, not Oregon, not Washington, not Maryland, not Hawaii.

Not one electoral vote from the land of Pundits and Bloggers except for Virginia's 13 electoral votes.

I suggest that Coulter, Lowry, Kristol, Krauthammer, Ingraham, Fund, J-Pod and the rest first do their jobs in their home states and/or the states of their youths. HELP GET A DAMN PRESIDENT ELECTED, then complain.

We don't want to hear another talk show host out of New York or DC claim that they got Bush elected. Maybe you energized the troops out here but we did the work. You reside in the land of zero, nada, nothing - no Electoral College votes.

This SCOTUS arguement is treating the rest of the Republicans thoughout the country who actually provied electoral college votes for The President the same way the Dems and the news media did after the 2004 election. Hicks, hayseeds, Jesus freaks, rednecks, NASCAR fools......

Many people in the states that actually provided Electoral College votes are at some level of support or at least wait and see over this nomination. The polls say so. Check MSNBC and Drudge.

Great comment. The people that voted for the President and gave him the electoral mandate are behind him and his nominee for SCOTUS.

I voted for GW and I think he totally botched this nomination. But we'll see what happens in the hearings.

Thank you for posting this. I am avoiding the zillions of Bush bashing threads today as I am making enemies around here! :-) I wondered if there were any reasonable threads on the subject and then I found this one! Yippee!

Yes, I think the fellow that wrote this comment should be writing commercials for Harriet. He spoke not only the truth, but did so in powerful, evocative terms.

Well, you're right - my state didn't give him any electoral votes.

So, in return, can we get him to stop ruling us, especially with his out-of-control spending, border insecurity and silly nominations?

I voted and worked my ass off for Bush. He's a great placeholder President. The question is a placeholder for what?

He hasnt done much for me in 5 years since the tax cut and WOT. Think hes showing the tone deaf qualities of his father. We have three years of a lot of no progess ahead.

I myself and my conservative friends actually think the pick was disrespectful to the base, the court and even to the lowly liberal.

One mans opinion like all.

That's right - the people who voted for Bush in states that went for the Kerry should just STFU, bend over, grab their ankles, and take it like a man.. er woman.. hmmm

All the complaining must be coming from conservatives in blue states - that explains the split - that's the ticket!

Hank, I feel reasonably certain that Bush would flush you if he could get your head to fit in the bowl.

I and my state of South Carolina elected George Bush and I support Miers for SCOTUS.

I am not in love with this president and I criticize him often and I will continue to do so but I elected him to make these decisions so I will support him.

Only time will tell if Dubya was right or wrong.

who are the ones the republicans looked to to motivate the base in 2000,2002, and 2004?

It was the same 'elitists' they are now condeming.

Their influence goes beyond their home states. Such a comment is ridiculous.

The administration and the party powers are cutting off their own noses. They'll come back to these 'elitists', hat in hand, when they need their support in whipping the base back up.
