That is good to hear about Ray Bradbury. I dearly love the "The Martian Chronicles".

Luis Gonzalez is a class act.

When he played for the Cubs - I had a chat with him and he gave me a game ball, which I promptly gave to the little boy sitting next to me. I told him I lost the ball and asked for another.

He saw what I did and gave me another one with a big smile on his face.

I've always respected him after that. I'm happy to hear he's a FReeper.

This constant affirmation of DUmmies to themselves over the people they hate is straight out of George Orwell's 1984:

It was nearly eleven hundred, and in the Records Department, where Winston worked, they were dragging the chairs out of the cubicles and grouping them in the centre of the hall opposite the big telescreen, in preparation for the Two Minutes Hate.

...

The Hate had started.

As usual, the face of Emmanuel Goldstein, the Enemy of the People, had flashed on to the screen. There were hisses here and there among the audience. The little sandy-haired woman gave a squeak of mingled fear and disgust. Goldstein was the renegade and backslider who once, long ago (how long ago, nobody quite remembered), had been one of the leading figures of the Party, almost on a level with Big Brother himself, and then had engaged in counter-revolutionary activities, had been condemned to death, and had mysteriously escaped and disappeared. The programmes of the Two Minutes Hate varied from day to day, but there was none in which Goldstein was not the principal figure.

Replace "Goldstein" with "Bush" and you have the DUmmies in a nutshell. Except they spend much longer than two minutes a day wallowing in their hatred.

1. Tina Fey. Used to think she was hot, until she kept opening her mouth, and not for the good thing.

2. Russell Crowe, since he beat up a hotel worker (I was once a hotel worker) and came out in support of Tookie.

3. R. Kelly. Guy can sing, but with songs like "The Down Low" and "In the Closet" methinks he is up to more things sexually than giving young girls golden showers.

4. Dave Chappelle: Funny guy who became a Muslim and a nutcase, which is redundant.

Hope your holiday was a great one. Now, on to my $0.02.

"Bill Cosby. He's a huge disappointment as far as I'm concerned."

The DUmmies are always dissappointed when one of their subjects leaves the plantation!

Dean Koontz is a neighbor (Newport Beach, CA) and quite a family man. He purchased a smaller house behind his bay front digs and completely redid the place for children lowering windows, ceilings etc. and had custom furniture made for the whole house.

He invites the neighborhood to at least one party a year and opens the 'Doll House' then too.

He's very nice but I can't stand his books.

"I hoped everybody enjoyed their turkey. The strange thing is that I'm STILL hungry for more turkey."

PJ, there are people working right now to cure this condition. It has been found that in some people, the "We Want Something" else gene is missing. Right now, the only known cure is chili and beer. Good luck!

In before 50!!! WOOHOO...

The strange thing is that I'm STILL hungry for more turkey.

Check to see if Karl Rove has bought stock in any turkey farms. He could be using the mind-control ray during this slack political time to boost his own wallet.
