them, at any rate; it'd already been common knowledge for some years, by that point) that
Mystery Science Theatre 3000 funnyman Michael J. Nelson was a lifelong, broken glass political conservative.

Wow! I'm glad I missed that thread, because I know it had to be nothing but idiots trashing my favorite show of all time because they got their panties in a bunch over one guy's politics. Mostly I just laugh at DU but that would've got my blood boiling. And yeah, Mike is hard core and may well be a freeper since he sounds just like one -- I saw an interview with him trashing the NY Times and naming Mark Steyn as his favorite columnist.
