Liberal Lunacy of the Day ~ Renford Reese lauds Tookie Williams
Liberal Lunacy ^ | 1/10/2006 | Beckwith

Renford Reese is an associate professor of political science at Cal Poly Pomona University, a really big admirer of Crips gang founder and murderer Stanley "Tookie" Williams and the author of an essay entitled, "M.L. King Jr., Tookie Williams: kindred spirits?," in which he favorably compares Tookie to the Rev. King.

Dr. Reese's paean, featured on the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin website, laments about the execution of this cold-blooded racist, because, "in his cell in San Quentin, Williams created a series of children's books titled ‘'Tookie Speaks Out Against Gang Violence,'" written with former journalist and Tookie groupie, Barbara Becnel.

But, lest we forget, on February 28, 1979, Stanley Williams murdered Albert Lewis Owens during a robbery of a 7-Eleven convenience store in Whittier, California.

Williams forced Owens, a new father, at gunpoint into the storage room.  There, Williams ordered Owens to "lay down, mother f*****."  Williams then chambered a round into the shotgun and fired the round into the security monitor.  He then chambered a second round and fired the round into Owens' back as he lay face down on the floor of the storage room.  He then fired again into Owens' back.

The robbery netted less than $120.00 for Williams and his associates, Tony Sims and the appropriately named Alfred Coward.

Williams said he killed Owens "because he was white and he was killing all white people."  Later that same day, Williams bragged to his brother Wayne about killing Owens, saying, "you should have heard the way he sounded when I shot him."  Williams then made gurgling or growling noises and laughed hysterically about Owens' death.

Tookie may have wanted to "kill all white people," but he didn't care much for Asians either.  Two weeks after Owens brutal murder, Tookie wiped out an entire family during a motel robbery, shotgunning  Tsai-Shai Yang, Yen-I Yang, and their daughter, Ye-Chen Lin.

Stanley "Tookie" Williams in San Quentin State Prison at the age of 29All of these crimes were particularly cruel  However, the apologist Reese alludes to the fact that Tookie Williams was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize on multiple occasions.  What Reese doesn't tell you is that anyone can "be nominated" for a Nobel Peace Prize.  It means nothing and has no official standing.  He also doesn't mention that the once prestigious award has been turned into a joke by the socialists and Marxists that have seized the award committee

Reese's illogical comparisons, "King embraced peace in the midst of the violent and senseless Vietnam War.  Williams embraced peace in the midst of the violent and senseless Iraq War," and "King stood for peace and was killed.  Williams stood for peace and was killed," can only lead the reader to believe that Reese is smoking crack.

And in a final outrage, Reese ends with the following absurdity, "Most great figures in world history are remembered for their compassion.  King shared this trait with the Ghandis, Mother Teresas, and Mandelas of the world.  He also shared this trait with the late Stanley Tookie Williams."

" the author of an essay entitled, "M.L. King Jr., Tookie Williams: kindred spirits?," in which he favorably compares Tookie to the Rev. King."
That is despicable, to compare them. King was a humanitarian who sought racial unity and brotherhood, and encouraged the use of nonviolent resistance to achieve this goal. Williams was a cold- blooded murderer who referred to the Asian family he wiped out as "Buddhaheads," started one of the most vicious street gangs in American history, and used horrific violence to achieve his goals. Also, there's the fact that Williams claimed to be innocent all the way up to his execution, even though he had gleefully described the murders to his brother and friends shortly before being arrested. To suggest that the two of them are even remotely similar would dishonor King's memory. Were King alive today, he would have almost certainly expressed his sadness at how much damage Williams and his kind have done to the black community.
