Why do you not understand what I say?(Understanding non-Christians)

... A few years ago I was given the opportunity to witness via email to a graduate student residing in an ivory tower netherworld in southern California. He had responded to a column I had written about forgiveness and the Vietnam War for the Los Angeles Times. I failed miserably to dent that guy’s conception of reality, receiving only the hoots and derision of an outrageously arrogant God-basher. I admitted defeat with a promise to pray for his salvation, whereupon he went ballistic with offense. (Such a reaction has become the…uh…rage now among the unbelieving, as if they’ve been taking etiquette lessons from Islamic militants.) I clenched my teeth and composed several clever comebacks, wishing I could get my hands on his neck and shake some sense into his head, but praise God, I remained silent and moved on.

Part of my error, in trying to educate my own way, was clearly spelled out in the 16th century by one of the most brilliant...

This is also from a religious blog. We have both a Religion section and a Bloggers section. I believe this would be more appropriate in one of those.

oh gee...me...really? ha ha

thanks

As Christians we know we will get some passionate responses. Especially via the computer, like that guy dealt with, and its easy to get more upset then what would happen in real time.
Its not up to us to change peoples mind (on their salvation) but we can help point them in the right direction.

To my non-religious friends I have stopped responding to sneezes with "God bless" and now simply mutter "Maybe the Mucus God accept your sacrifice" which cheers them up exceeding.

TODAY, tax-chick? Are you that close? If so, may your labor be short and your baby bouncingly healthy!

Wow, that site is awesome, thank you. I put it in my favorites folder.

His second article is exactly what we're discussing and working through right now in our Bible study - Beth Moore's Believing God.

Blessings,

Good article and very timely as I was flamed just this morning. This article is along the lines that I have believed in the last few years about witnessing. Why two people can see the same thing and derive different conclusions is indeed curious.

I'm hoping it will be today (although it's getting a little late, Eastern time ...) but I hoped it would be yesterday and the day before, too :-). Less than a week seems pretty certain.

Thanks for your kindness!

Time really seems to drag at the end of term, I know. It'll happen when it's time, I guess.

Anyhow, if I don't get a chance to wish you well any closer to your time, I'm sure things will go very well for you. And at the end of your labor, you'll have a wonderful new life to cherish. How wonderful for you!

Thanks! We've been very successful at having babies so far, so I expect this one will be fine ... if it will just get here! The other children thought they'd be getting their "vacation" from school by now; they're very disappointed every morning when I turn their lights on.

Yeah. I had forgotten that there are already a bunch of tax-chicklets tramping through your house. This one should be a snap. I'll bet all the others are really excited about a new addition to the family.

Yes, they are. My oldest boy is griping about having too many brothers in his room, but maybe we'll move to a bigger house before it becomes a crisis!

"The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:-14)

The short version of the article.

If you appreciate what someone on a lesser known site writes, the least you can do is drive some traffic to his site. Its just simple courtesy.
