In 2004, at his acceptance speech at the the Republican National Convention, he hinted toward a limited government, including Social Security and Tax Reform. Here we are a year and a half later, listening to a State of the Union address that should have touted a recently passed Tax Reform Bill, and a recently debated or passed Social Security reform bill.

And Bush would have passed these things how? Bush did his part. Our senators and congressmen need to grow a pair.

Instead, in 2006, we are given the same rhetoric we were given in 2004 which said "I am calling on Congress to make the tax cuts permanent!" We also were asked to be patient while the President forms a committee to discuss Social Security reform.

You must have missed the part where the dims clapped with glee upon hearing that they blocked social security reform. Again, the pubbies need to grow a spine and do what they were elected to do.

All this while he stated that the Federal Government has an obligation to the elderly and the poor; to provide access to health care. All I can say to that statement is "WHAT?!?!?!" Since when? What ever happened to the Republican Party? What has happened to the party of fiscal responsibility? I know this question has been asked before, but it needs to be asked again. We are projected, according to this president, to have 60% of the Federal Budget earmarked for entitlement programs by 2030. Are they serious? Really. I have one question for the 535 members of both congressional houses, the Vice President and the President. When are you gonna grow the stones to stop this madness?

You got one right!

I imagine some of the negative comments are due to your decision to post your take on your blog and send people over there to read it instead of just posting it here. I don't normally follow those links, but things were slow here this morning. Blog pimping is not too popular, as you may have noticed. Including a link to your blog is one thing, your method was quite another. Of course that's just my opinion, and you know what they say about those.

This was the point of my opinion. It is the Congress and Senate Republicans that need to grow the pair. 55-44-1 and a Republican House and they can't make the taxcuts permanent and they can't do anything about Social Security reform. This opinion was designed to get people to understand they (congress) won't do anything unless we tell them how we feel.

I was a bit abrasive. I know the audience here. Maybe this time i was too abrasive. thanks.
