I passed through a short tunnel from the First World in Israel and emerged into the Third World that is Gaza. The poverty there is among the worst in the world.

The US has historically given 350+ million dollars to the palestinian authority annually. That's more than all of Europe combined. It amounts to more than 1/3 of all the foreign aid they receive.
Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
But what makes me mad is the way journalists so often blame America/Israel for their poverty, despite blaming the palestinian government?
