HERE ARE TWO GREAT FREE WEBSITES! I recommend using both. NumbersUSA actually sends faxes to our representatives. Capwiz actually resulted in receiving a letter in the mail from my senator. So, both are very good!

Please email these to your friends and relatives so they will have them before the end of the weekend. I have a strong hunch that by the time May 1 is over with they will be wanting to get in contact with their reps. as well.

All the people with general contractors licenses love hiring the illegals. They can spend little, they work hard and pocket a lot more cash which they would call the American way.

IMO, construction is a skill job, not a caca job. The line about doing jobs Americans won't do is BS.

I think they mean the jobs America won't do for a third of it's true value.

Can you imagine all the dangerous structures illegals have put up? Most of these generals go out of business before 5 years and who will these homeowners go after when the house falls down or burns up?

When we sold our house, we needed some repairs and called a company we had used for years. One guy was American. The others I presume were Mexican, could not speak spanish. The American said he had his job because he could speak spanish and the owner could not but that the rest of the American crew was fired years ago.

He said the guys working with him were earning $8 an hour to do carpentry.

It is bad and what it does is leave the general contractors that exist all powerful with less competition because these Mexicans won't be legally allowed to bid against them as contractors themselves unless they are at least legal.
The general contractors are protecting their monopoly of power by using a force that can't replace or compete with them like an American worker can develop to be.

When this generation of General contractors die out with no Americans coming up to take over in numbers, the building industry will probably all go to hell even more so.

America is going to hell before our very eyes. We have a corrupt government and businesses at all levels, there is something very sinister afoot in what is transpiring.

On many construction sites in Texas nobody speaks English. Framers earn $8 to $9 an hour and a trim carpenter earns $9 to $10 an hour. Painters earn less.

In most Black neighborhoods there isn't a single Black or White face building houses and apartments. After construction trades opened up to Blacks in the mid 60s, they were a way for Blacks to move up economically without going north to work in the factories and meat packing houses.

Today you can’t get those jobs. If you do they pay less than they did ten years ago.

20 Years ago you had White college kids working as laborers along side inner-city Black kids in the summer because the job paid more than a fast food job. The Black kids would try to learn a trade and the White kid would sock away enough to pay for his books, room and board at school.

Today neither one of them can get those jobs and the jobs don’t pay any more than flipping burgers any way.

It is nice when you run into such a good and well-put reply, one that sums up the sitution so well. Thanks for your insights on this.

"Corrupt Contractor Uses Illegal Mexican Laborers to Put American Citizen Out of Business"

Sounds like the corrupt contracter oughta' be sent to Mexico so all his laborers can do their job legally...

Mexico will not allow it. He could not do that. The only solution is for those workers to come here. Don't you see?

Yeah, I know. It is just so annoying when an ILLEGAL takes a job away from a CITIZEN. And it's even more annoying when the EMPLOYER is standing right there waiting to hire them. All places of business should prominently display these signs, only if applicable. WE DO NOT HIRE or PANDER TO ILLEGALS...

Ping!

The more they tell that lie of 'jobs no American would do' the angrier I become. It's a whole lot more like 'jobs Americans have been forced out of.'

This same thing has been happening in CT now for about 6 or 7 years. If you weren't the type to get a college education and / or preferred to work in the trades, one used to be able to make a decent living here. I know of quite a few customers of mine that have been driven out of the construction business by scumbags who hire illegals. Because they don't pay SS, FICA or insurance for their "day laborers" they consistently under bid legitimate business owners.

To the morons who think that by waving a magic wand over the heads of illegals and granting them "earned citizenship"....you $uck.

What is to stop the scumbags from firing all their newly "legal" workers and running back down to Home Depot and hiring more illegals.

This is exactly why "open borders" will not work.

We need the borders secured between legal crossings and FAST...then the politicians can circle jerk until they all get carpel tunnel syndrome while talking about a temporary worker program.

The same thing has happened in the Heating HVAC field, the Auto Body Repair field and many other blue collar occupations. These are jobs that Americans ARE indeed willing to do and have done for generations... but now these Americans can not support their families doing so.
