I agree with Italy being # 1, Ancient Rome was absolutely amazing and it remains to this day my favorite part of History.

who did we miss?

Israel. Birthplace of Judaism and Christianity.

A bit more of of a reach: Turkey. Troy, the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire, and the Ottoman Empire. It certainly ranks with France and Germany, at least.

Where is Macedonia?

I would place that with Greece.

Mongolia?

Genghis Khan was a great conqueror. However, what else did the Mongols do?

The Holy Roman Empire?

That is present day Germany, doesn't quite make the cut.

ROFLMAO - Italy?

BTW, ROME <> Italy. They are entirely separate civilizations.

Greece c. 2000 or c. 1600 or c. 600 is likewise <> Greece c. 800 BC.

They are not the same "countries".

This is like saying the US includes the 6 Nations and is represented in AD 500 by the 6 nations.

I'd put Israel on the list. It's pretty hard to see how it was left off since it was the subject of the Bible.
