Very sad. I never did find out what pushed him over the edge, but I remember his sudden obsession with his IQ as being a particularly bizarre symptom.

No worse than being obsessed over Handy Packs.

Ooh, and just to name-drop, one of the losers in the "gifted" program in my highschool, was this really smart guy, one of the smartest I ever knew. Yeah, what a loser. All he did was go on and found one of those internet companies. What was the name of it again? Something about a large, South American river...

Yeah - this goes along with all of the "outcome-based" crap...not marking papers with red ink because it sends the "wrong message", yadayadayada.

...or with not being able to fit handy/fanny packs around my fanny.

My diet counselor just called and asked how I was doing. My response?

BWAH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

We haven't even hit on 'these' 'those' and 'them' yet. And I said you had hit them all. Silly I!

I knew a guy in public screwl that could be a DUmmie on this thread. The guy liked to tell everyone he was smart and talented. He might have been smart, but who knows? No one could ever get past the fact that he made up stories ranging from the plausible to the impossible. He lied about everything. He was a social misfit and outcast because of his own lies and snobbish behavior. He did this from elementary school through high school. That's why the jocks made fun of him.

Reinforces my general opinion that libs/dems are malcontent misfits who believe that they are superior to others and blame those same others for any adversity in their lives.

When I was four years old I marched into the local library and asked the Librarian to give me the hardest book you could ever read, because I was smart and could read Anything.. and I was dead serious, I'd been reading at High School level or higher at age 4.. She gave me Kant, philosophy.. smart lady.. but I realized that while I could read the WORDS that the concepts were meaningless to me as a child, so I put the book back on the shelf and vowed to have many life experiences so that everything in that philosophy book would ring true when I was older

Four years old? Bwahahaha! What a load of horse-puckey. Four year olds are barely aware of their own existence, let alone what level of intelligence they posess. Maybe the DUmmie meant 'fourteen years old".

I still would like for someone out there to tell me how I can stow a knife, pens, sunglasses, cell phone, radio, batteries, and LOTS of other stuff in mere pockets? Yeah you can probably do it but only with dopey looking bulges. Sorry, but Handy Packs (my new term for Fanny Packs) are, well, handy.

Carry it or wear it and call it whatever.....It's still a purse.

Disregard the "unmanly" comments - I only knew one guy who used one, but he used it to carry his gun when attending sports events (FBI). I'm thinking calling him unmanly would have been a bad move.

I could read at three, he could read at four. More proof that conservatives are smarter.

By the way, He was reading "Can't", not Kant. "Can't" is a book about things you can't do like think for yourself or be self-reliant. The Government knows what's best.

and come up with the notion that most of what goes on in daily life is just pointless.

Yea, why worry about providing yourself with food, clothing and shelter when the nanny state should be doing it for you! Typical leftist thinking.

Some of these "gifted" people don't know the difference between "it's" and "its", can't spell "the" correctly, and don't know that "beautimous" isn't a word. This is truly "hugh" and "series"! :-D

You forgot the #1 word on the list. People misspelling the word "lose" as "loose". It is rampant on any message board.

WOW! After reading these posts from “gifted” democrats I have two observations.

1, I now understand Howard Dean.

2, All democrats put on your helmets and get on the small school bus.

That was Purrcival. I think we both felt we might loose our train of thought. :>
