Most likely explanation: the terrorists simply don't have the motivation and expertise to attack the US, and there are virtually no US-based terror cells. It must be nice to live in your fantasy world!

The real world is that we face much greater threats from Iran, Russia, and China than from a bunch of incompetent terrorists who haven't been able to carry out any attacks on our soil since 9/11.
