Yahoo ^ | 09/18/2006 | Sidney Blumenthal

Posted on 09/18/2006 10:05:15 AM PDT by Phlap

President Bush tried to armor the Republican Party before the mid-term elections by projecting himself as the commander-in-chief. Now he has torn the epaulets from his uniform to reveal himself as something no other president has ever been: torturer-in-chief.

...

Bush imagined that he would use the period surrounding the 9/11 commemorations to revive his popularity and lift the Republican Party before the mid-term elections on the national security theme. His atmospherics, however, have been blown away by his grim realities. Going into the election, he has split the Republican Party and forced the country to face a debate on torture.

How many times can you use the word "torture" in a single article?

He's also a dangerous liar that has led many people to buy the democrat talking points--which harm our ability to win the war, the most important event in our lifetime.
And should people like Blumenthal ever have power again, Lord help the country because it's going to be hurt.

Makes me think of SNL (washed up) and their skit with Kevin Nealon (dead career) who portrayed a character named Mr. Subliminal (very funny) who gave commentary on various things in the news (torture). I'm not sure if Mr. Subliminal was a fan of President Bush (torturer) but I think using comedy (torture) as a way of discussing things (torture). Certainly it's more pleasant than reading arrticles by Sidney Blumenthal (torture).

Thanks for looking. I have fairly extensive collections of links for a number of subjects, that have fallen by the wayside as time progresses. Those are among them.

I've already been delving deeply into one of the links. The one about Gore and Clinton giving citizenship to illegal aliens and prisoners and the other being clinton and Chelsea in my hometown, Oxford. Not a word in the writeup about him being expelled or being ordered to leave the country immediately for raping Eileen Wellstone. Anyone with a hint of morals would never have attempted to go back there.

One of the most interesting- and largely unremarked- sidebars in the rise of both Clintons to power is the symbiotic relationship between them and the media. Both the News, and the Entertainment, wings of that great bird of prey had a role in promoting, sustaining, and defending "that fresh, young Governor from Arkansas"- and his wife.

It was a sort of mutual exploitation with common interests and goals.

Naturally, not mentioning the more sordid side of Oxford was a part of that.

And much, much more- see tagline...
