I would not be surprised if this is why the Wash Times has asked for Hastert's legislation. Everyone thought that this was too early for the Democrats to spill but it might be because there is more news to come.
We will see what happens.
Possibility; FBI said there was not enough to file charges and the GOP leadership said that in that case they will handle it internally.
We will see what happens.
Should have said "resignation."
Ping...
THis definitely doesn't make sense. The e-mails came to light in the fall of 2005. That's when the republicans "dealt" with this issue, and considered the matter closed.
There is no reason that the FBI would have been told in July of 2006 that the republicans "would handle it". If the story said the republicans said they had already "handled it", it might have a modicum of credibility.
An anonymous FBI source is on record as saying that the original e-mail just didn't look criminal. There's no reason to believe there is more to it than that, especially since newspapers found the same thing, nothing to report about.
BUT, this is another example of someone sending this information to people to get some traction. WHO SENT THE E-MAIL to the FBI? It wasn't the republicans, who dealt with it in 2005. It wasn't the page who got the e-mail, he didn't want anything to do with the story. So it must have been someone else who wanted to cause trouble.
Officials from the liberal-leaning group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington said yesterday that they received copies of the Louisiana e-mails on July 21 and turned them over to the FBI the same day.
You ruffled feathers. Your thread has been "de-topicked."
If CBS sticks to this claim that Republicans "stopped" a criminal investigation then the GOP leadership needs to come out one by one and call CBS the liars they are and then say nothing else.
Exactly and I wish folks would remember that distinction and KEEP it clear.
Unless the GOP leadership knew about the INSTANT MESSAGES and DID NOTHING ABOUT IT, then let's not throw them under the bus!
I wonder how they were able to get a hold of the email. The parents did not want the matter pursued, so how did they come by the email, that's if it's the same email that was reported to the republicans.
From whom?
Who relased the emails? The page himself?
Why is this your first post in 15 and a half months?
Oops, make that "this doesn't sound right".
When FBI investigated Jefferson I don't think they asked anyone in congress to go raid the guy's office, did they?
. . .'involvement or actual investigation; in which case; who asked for it to begin with. . .
Wny is it the Lib Media has the 'drip, drip, drip. . .of 'info' here; and interesting; how they are releasing it.
What more. . .and how true; words mean things; but we know the Dems can change that at any time; and usually do.
Regarding the emails and instant messages (IMs), what are the dates when each surfaced and when did the FBI conclude no criminal evidence existed re the emails?
I'm also looking for a time line about this these events.
I think the confusion lies with the possibility that few have seen the actual IM texts and are still under the impression that the emails are the whole story.
It's not up on their website and I would figure that this would be top news for them.
I've been busy. I don't post that often, but when I do, its good.
