In this first Pop Culture post of 2007 we've got updates on the Rosie/Trump feud and how the Steve Irwin family is cashing in on his untimely death.
Also, "Atlas Shrugged" a movie? And Michael Jackson sues everybody while the Beach Boys also in some legal jeopardy, some Media Nuggets and hey, Bono a KNIGHT?

Very tasteless comment.
And yet, oddly, still true.
So what's tasteless? My comment or his family's actions. Read the article, now we have a Steve Irwin action figure. I figure that's tasteless as hell. Not to mention dangling your baby around crocadile's mouths.
Now THAT's tasteless.
Your comments. Steve Irwin made millions of dollars while he was alive. If it was about money, his family could just call it quits and live happily ever after on what they have. But his family wants to continue his legacy of protecting animals. You make his family sound like vultures for wanting to follow their dead husband/father's wishes. I just find your comment absolutely repulsive concerning a tragic situation.
I don't dislike Irwin.In fact,the opposite is true...he was a personable,entertaining guy.But he was an entertainer,not a "conservationist".
I disagree. But it's your opinion and it's as valuable as mine.
Moving along...
Thank you for your comments. To be fair, I do believe that's what my Blog post encapsulated, your post pretty much point by point.
A baby around alligators? I'll never quite get over that stunt. For sure he'll never be someone I consider a hero.
So shoot me.
And you know what was in Steve's heart because you are some kind of psychic mind reader? Steve got his start rescuing crocodiles in populated areas for free with the only condition that they be saved and put in a park. So he found a way to make big money on his passion later in life. It is very presumptuous to claim he was all about money.
As I recall, he spent much of his own money purchasing land so it could be conserved.
Yes, he was also an entertainer, and given his popularity I'd say a good one. That doesn't mean, however, that he didn't find a way to use his talent to further his passion.
And because he got bad press and did a poor PR job, he was an evil capitalist. Steve was exposed to crocodiles at a very young age and understood them as well as anyone. There was no danger, and from his perspective it was perfectly normal. Poor judgement from the public's point of view, but I am not sure how that proves he was just about money.
No,I'm not saying he was an evil capitalist.Nothing I ever heard him say,saw him do or heard about him ever suggested to me that he was evil.As I suggested earlier,I liked the guy.He came across to me as being a decent, respectable type of guy.The incident with his kid was stupid...but I've done a few stupid things in my life too so...there you go.
