Perhaps, better if we go first to the heart of the 'enabler' i.e. 'political correctness'; the euphemism for cultural/political brainwashing; so as to facilitate 'group think'; i.e. a more 'subtle' approach to the Left's goal of what is in truth; a bloodless culture cleansing.
We cannot get to the truth - while expecting others to do so - unless we change the dialog.
Where; we might ask; is the outrage against our now imposed PC that filters our political free speech? The reality is that the 'chicken/egg' - cause/effect - MO of political correctness is rendering what should be 'outraged American's' to a population of docile and mute observers.
The reason, or at least a contributing factor, that we do not hear the 'Muslim outrage'; is that radical Islamism implemented the MO of political correctness; long before we ever heard of it. Of course, they have as well, other means at their disposal for encouraging silence on behalf of it's adherents.
We want Muslim's to stand up and be counted; but in fact, too many Americans' are sitting with their mouths and minds shut. And when they speak; we hear only the diluted, post-filtered truth of the matter.
