Either Newt isn't running or he is the first known person to be running for VP.

I think it's time Newt fans get serious about who their second choice will be if he doesn't declare a candidacy.

I hear you, and you're probably right. Once I see one worth a crap, I'll let you know.

Newt is definitely not “running for VP”, he wouldn’t add anything to the ticket in second spot. He is either running for POTUS (so that my position is clear, I hope he does) and waiting for final implosion of Rudy and Johnny, or he is not running. He himself has said that it’s too early for “running” and I believe he is right, as he is most times. Also, Internet is changing dynamics of political campaigns and importance of money - formerly mostly for saturation TV ads, now will be more properly directed for viral campaigns and grass-roots GOTV (hopefully more effective than GOP did in 2006) - so “early money” will be “dumb money” this time around.

In the meantime, Newt is getting more exposure with the things that count more than mouthing off stale platitudes, and he is pushing ideas and proposes solutions to actual real problems that people want to hear and understand and get behind.
