Do you mean by this statement that unless you own advanced weaponry, you can't repel a tyranical government?

If so you would be so very wrong. A few tips. In WWII the US mass produced a tiny .45 cal pistol which it mass air-dropped in the Philipines and elsewhere. These .45's were only about the size of your hand and they only came with about 5 rounds, but those weapons created massive problems for the occupying government.

You see, a few people armed with these .45's could disarm some soldiers and free them of their weapons and vehicles. With these liberated weapons and vehicles and a knowledge of culture and language, the liberators advanced their freedoms.

In America today, even if a liberal President declared martial law and sought to run a dictatorship, they would face much worse opposition.

First, a significant portion of the armed forces will not turn their guns on the country folk from which they orginate from. (City folk...I'm not so sure) Second, the huge number of former military people that exist in society would know how to operate and defeat all US military weapons/bases/tactics. In no time flat, these things (stealth fighters included) would be in the hands of knowlegeable citizens, armed with "just" hunting rifles.

The way liberals will try to disarm is will be a slow boil of increasing licenses and costs for owning guns. However, this genie is out of the bottle in America. There will always be guns here. The question will be on control after an uprising. That is what is scarier, IMO.

May I also point out that it is the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, 1944. A small number of Jews held off the overwhelmingly better armed Nazi army. They had almost no arms to start with, except what they got off of dead Germans.
