Snapped Shot Calls against Shamnesty coming in 19 to one
Snapped Shot words of wisdom ^ | 6/22/07 | Snapped Shot

No kidding. The pro:con ratio of calls [related to the Immigration bill] is probably 1:19 here. That's because the people who are "for" it are busy working and not calling Senate offices.

Why would that be surprising since no one is for it.

“Snapped shot” is the web site. “Words of wisdom” is the article. This is the only first person tally I have seen of the message our legislators are hearing.

My tag line is the ph# in Spanish, paid for by George Soros, which rings you through directly into your senators office...(800-882-2005, 1 then 1 to get direct to your Sr. Senator, 2, then 1 to get your Jr. Senator!))

The 38 senaturds are running out of “funny” voices to call eachother and proclaim their support for it.

Actually the website all these came from is this one

1-800-417-7666 still works fine. For anyone that doesn't know it, it's free, connects right to your Senator based on area code. Send it out to your e-mail contacts and family not on freerepublic to get them involved too.

They write like 14 year olds, both in content and in grammar (or lack thereof).

Keep it up boys and girls. You may be talking your bosses and yourselves right out of a job.

Idiot - I work, but took time to call because the future of America is at stake.

Other “capitol staffer comments” ... arrogant, elitist and clueless liberals thinking they are superior to others...

“really. i just don’t understand it. these people come. most of them work hard, don’t cause trouble, and just try to get by. let’s cut them a break, make them legal, create a system that discourages more illegal immigrants from coming (e.g., employment varification), increase the number of high-skilled visas, and let’s move on. it seems pretty simple.
6/20/2007 - 10:16 am

If Congress authorized the building of a fence along the entire southern border (which they never will...because it’s an incredibly stupid idea)...they would call us complaining that we spend so much money on a wall that people still go over, under, and around.I don’t think people have thought this wall concept through....
6/20/2007 - 10:10 am

So many call, so uninformed, and so racist (at least a lot of them).
6/20/2007 - 10:01 am

“A girl in high school catches you looking at her and she starts
wearing nice dresses,” Sharpton said. “It doesn’t mean she’s going to
date you. But she’s at least teasing you, so it really increases your
hope. This is a serious tease.”-Sharpton on Bloomberg
6/20/2007 - 9:58 am

Every call is the exact same. 1. We don’t need this new amnesty bill. 2. Enforce the laws that are already there. 3. Build the wall.
6/20/2007 - 9:56 am

If I hear the words “amnesty bill” one more time, I’m going to have a fit.

Another capitolist comment:

“How is your office handling the immigration phone calls/comments from
residents of states other than the one your member represents? We tell them, politely, to fuck off.”

“o kidding. The pro:con ratio of calls is probably 1:19 here. That’s because the people who are “for” it are busy working and not calling Senate offices. Or angrily marching in the streets waiving Mexican flags.”

“The thing with immigration is that it’s completely lopsided. Those who
are passionately opposed to comprehensive reform are part of a small
minority. The majority of the public supports it, but doesn’t really
care. So there’s no good way around this mess. But yes, let’s move on.I read somewhere that, “They have the
passion, but not the votes.” Those who are against the immigration bill are
not being helped by the radical racist hiding among them. It’s unfortunate that
some people are using this topic to spread hatred.”

These Liberal staffers are completely clueless. They have bought the lie that it is a popular think to hvae a phony ‘comprehensive’ bill that gives a massive amnesty to 12 million illegal aliens and leaves the real immigration problems left untended.

“Congress isn’t doing this because they’re making nice with the illegals.”

Not so. La Raza and the immigration lawyers practically wrote this bill.

“This isn’t about amnesty for the immigrants at all. This is smokescreen about the REAL amnesty: amnesty for the employers.”
It’s a well-known fact that there are cheap-labor-lobby emploters pushing for certain parts of this bill. But in fact what the business community wants is not necessarily amnesty. The high-tech businesses was H1Bs expanded, agribusinesses want a consistent temporary worker program. Many of the employers who are hooked on illegal immigrant labor right now (eg construction, meatpacking) are afraid of deportation policies.

“Corporations don’t want to pay millions in back fines and have their employees and boards go to prison.”
The 1986 bill was deliberately neutered by kennedy and others to prevent proper employer verification. If the employers verify at the *wrong* time, they get hit with a dicrimination suit. At the same time, fraudulent soc sec numbers are considered valid ‘docs’ because there is not a system to check validity.
The #1 thing corporations want is reliable mechanism so they know how to protect their end. The fact is, the fines are stiff enough today *if they were used*. This system is not broken because someone forgot, it’s deliberately been designed to fail to work.

“THAT is why this bill is going to pass.”

It aint over until its over.
