Murdered gay talk host loved drinking "fascism cola"(drink made by Savage's son)

Interesting: according to lefty blog Blather Watch, murdered gay talk show host Mike Webb (from Seattle) liked to drink RockStar--a beverage labelled as "Fascist Cola" because the founder's dad happens to be...Michael Savage.

"A little memorial has begun on the corner near his Queen Anne house at 3rd Avenue West, and Smith Street with cards and flowers, an in-studio picture of him at KIRO with Rep. Jim McDermott, and producer Jeremy Grater. There's a '40' of his favorite drink, RockStar, and a candle."

Now read this about RockStar: "I'm not conducting a boycott, or looking for anything from you. This is just an informal educational campaign. I think once you have the background, you'll not wish to drink or sell this company's products... Russell Weiner, CEO of Rock Star, is the son of Michael Weiner, known better as extreme right-wing radio talkshow host Michael Savage." (read more below)

So Mike Webb, found murdered in his Seattle home, used to love "fascism cola"...

(The anti-RockStar page continues, "Savage expresses extreme viewpoints filled with anti-immigrant, gaybashing, intolerant, hate-filled sentiments. He has applauded the abuse at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, opposed aid for tsunami victims, and called for the dropping of nuclear weapons on an an Arab country, any Arab country. He was fired from a brief stint at MSNBC after telling a gay caller to "get AIDS and die". He runs a group called The Paul Revere Society, which among other things, calls for the imprisonment of anti-war activists for sedition.")

more from the anti-Rock Star/Russ Weiner page:
“Rock Star is a family business. Michael helped formulate the drink, drawing on his long-time background as as a botanist and herbalist. Wife and mother, Janet Weiner handles Rock Stars finances. Russell has toured with his father, helping to promote his father’s extreme beliefs. By all accounts, he seems to share these beliefs enthusiastically. Consider the following excerpt from a Salon article. The article covers a performance last spring at the local Concord Pavilian.

America’s laziest fascist
Salon, May 20, 2004
http://archive.salon.com/news/feature/2004/05/20/savage/print.html

“Savage’s son, Russ Weiner, kicked off the show. With his spiky, dyed-orange hair and calculated scruffiness, he was reminiscent of Dr. Evil’s son Scott from the Austin Powers movies. The resemblance was confirmed when Weiner proclaimed, “I’m proud to be the son of Savage!” The 30-something Weiner is the founder of RockStar, an energy drink that he developed with his dad, drawing on Savage’s previous career as a Marin County herbalist and ethnobotanist named Michael Weiner. RockStar’s herbal liver-cleansing formula is supposed to enable drinkers to “party like a rock star,” which presumably means drinking and doping. Generous free samples had been passed out to the crowd on the way in. It lived up to its hype: The antifreeze-colored, cough-syrup-flavored beverage can only be enjoyed if you’re taking drugs.”

Why is it that the “peace and love” crowd is always on a “search and destroy mission”?

This butt surfer was murdered and somehow its' Weiner's fault that requires a boycott of Rockstar drink? I fail to see the logic.

btw the anti-Rock Star page says that Savage told a “gay (sic)
caller to get AIDS and die”. The caller was not necessarily gay. Prankster East Coast Bob called in during a segment on
“airline horror stories” and suddenly veered off into
talking about how “Don and Mike should take your show
because you have rotten teeth” or something like that.

Savage: “Oh you’re one of those sodomites?”

The prankster, playing along, said: “Yes I am”, at which
point Savage told him to get AIDS and die. So the caller
was playing along with what Savage said but was not necessarily gay...

Most of us did just fine without the "enabling". :-)

Inother words “We don’t like what he says or thinks- so we don’t want YOU TO either”

How very liberal of them

From the Facism Cola website..

I'm not conducting a boycott, or looking for anything from you. This is just an informal educational campaign. I keep a couple of these in my car, so that when I see someplace selling Rock Star Energy Drink, I can use this article to help explain who the family behind the company is. I think once you have the background, you'll not wish to drink or sell this company's products. Besides, there are so many energy drinks on the market that you could easily get by without this one.

Yep, not calling for a boycott or anything... I just don't want you to sell or stock it. Yep, true leftist convoluted thing there!

No, I’m just saying it was ironic that the article mentioned
how much he liked RockStar...a drink made by Michael
Savage and his son. Shouldn’t Webb have boycotted
a beverage made by Savage and his son? It’s not Weiner’s
fault—the anti-RockStar page has been up for awhile—
but it was just kind of ironic that Webb seemed to help
fund Savage and his son...again, maybe Webb was unaware...

Hmmm. I have to try some of the beverage.

Another weird story with Savage ending up as the whipping boy.

"He had taken up with "shady" individuals in the months before his disappearance, according to statements his family made to police."
seatlepi.com

A gay "walks on the wild side", gets himself murdered and the gay "community" targets Savage. Talk about self-destructive denial.

...opposed aid for tsunami victims...

You mean like this nice young man wearing a very elaborate "celebrity" t-shirt of OSAMA BIN LADEN???

And yes this is a genuine photo (and t-shirt). I think it first surfaced in a NY Times slideshow of the tsunami (albeit not discussed specifically in print).

That is actually a pretty good drink. I avoid the stuff with sugar but the diet drink has plenty of B vitamins in it.
