I'm disappointed in him too. Taking the base for granted is NOT the way to win the election. The Democrats had no problem meeting with the gay lobby. Yet here Republicans shun family values voters like the plague. That's political self-immolation. If the GOP front runners dread having to take tough questions from the base, how are they going to stand up to the Democrats? Its a very good question.

Curious dichotomy, is it not?

As for why Fred isn't going to stand on the same stage as Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo and field questions about issues important to conservatives, well, that's fairly obvious. A former abortion lobbyist and current friend of amnesty has little to gain by doing so.

The only reason Fred's candidacy was rolled out by the RNC was because the other three were so obviously repulsive to values voters that they had to find a RINO with a more obscure record.
