Not a problem from my standpoint, but weren't you being a little unkind to Brett? And you do agree that threats against him were communicated on a forum frequented by St. Louis police officers, yes? That is simply not right, IMO.

Consider the following from FReeper physicist about a couple of FReepers who were set upon by union thugs in Philadelphia in 1998 for exercising a constitutional right:

Why you should care:

It is the business of Freepers to exercise our rights under the First Amendment. When we talk back to power, we have an expectation of being secure in our persons, in our property, and in our liberty. If Don and Teri Adams lose, none of these expectations are valid. It will mean that the men in power can silence us at will, without serious consequences. Five foot-soldiers of the totalitarians have received probation. That's something. But unfortunately Don and Teri have been made to pay a long series of terrible prices over the last five years, and much more lies ahead. I expect it to get worse for them before it gets better.

Would YOU be up to it?

Like Ruby Ridge, or Waco, or the Kerry tazer kid?
It's a little late, and yer pickin on the chickens.

I do not condone the publishing of his personal details on cop sites. However they have the "right" to talk amongst themselves also.

IF Brett had been a little less on edge, and just BS'd the cop there wouldn't been any suspicion or "intimidation" for that matter.

I am NOT for a totalitarian iron fist LE. Brett could do a lot by apologizing, and dropping lawsuits. I bet the LE would do likewise.

"I am NOT for a totalitarian iron fist LE. Brett could do a lot by apologizing, and dropping lawsuits. I bet the LE would do likewise."

How nice. So as long as Mr. Darrow agrees to stop pursuing legitimate damages that he was the victim of, the cops will start acting like law abiding citizens again??? Wow. And to think that I thought that they swore an oath or something like that when they became police officers. I guess one's word and sworn oath to uphold the law really doesn't mean squat to most people. Outstanding world we've got here.

FBI should be investigating

Somebody better be looking out for this young man...he's gonna have an "accident" -

From this whole story, it sounds like this is rogue dept. and has probably been riding roughshod over people - and with a chief who has a really bad record - complaints would go nowhere...and they'd get intimidated.

There's a reason this cop didn't run his dash cam (which is illegal) - he didn't want his actions on camera.

I wonder if this young man didn't do this to do this to get documentation. He may be a hero to that little town...

It went beyond publishing his personal information:

I hope this little POS punk bastard tries his little video stunt with me when I pull him over alone- and I WILL pull him over - because I will see "his gun" and place a hunk of hot lead right where it belongs.

Do you agree that a threat was communicated over the internet? If you do agree that a threat was communicated, should authorities investigate it, in your opinion?

according to that post history, this isn’t the first time Mr Darrow has taped cops

According to...

The cops are supposed to have their dash cam recording - this protects them from people saying they were abused, they weren't drunk, etc. This cop did not have = and sounds like it was a habit - his dash cam on...guess it's his OWN behavior he didn't want recorded. From his history and the sordid history of the Chief, this little area fiefdom sounds like it was a place where the citizens were harassed and complaints either were ignored (no tapes for witness) and or/you learned quick to be quiet and take it.

This cop didn't realize the young man was taping him until too late - and was flustered when he spotted the cam. From his questions, only two things saved Mr. Darrow from having his cam ripped out and maybe ended up in a very bad place: he was quick witted enough to intimate that the cam was recording to a 'secure location" = and by that time another, non-agressive cop had shown up = two witnesses.

I wonder if Mr. Darrow didn't have the camera to document a rogue cop that was terrorizing people while knowing that complaints would go nowhere. Someone had to take a stand...hopefully, the little nest of bullies will get cleaned out without Mr. Darrow coming to any harm. There probably aren't many locals who dare come openly to his defense at this point for a reasonable fear that they will be added to the harassment list.

Being harassed by rogue cops can be very frightening.

These kind of cops make it harder for the good law enforcement guys and gals. They need the hammer brought down on them - quick.

This new video doesn’t show anything nefarious..

if he's being stocked - if they don't have a very good reason to be on that dead end street "a lot lately" according to the neighbor...it IS nefarious

Well, FWIW, I think this kid Darrow is a brave sould who is a little bit reckless in standing up for his rights, but he’s doing the right thing. Rednesss had some good legal perspectives.

That's my take - It sounds like this is a systemic pattern with this dept - have you read the backgrounds of this cop and the chief? (I keep referring to him as "cop" because he doesn't deserve to be called an officer

Ok fine but the video does NOT show that. It shows 45 seconds of over exposure, followed by a few seconds of neighborhood scenery and finally we see the back of the police car for a bit.

Where is the stalking (or should I say stocking), what do you see that is nefarious?

I’m not saying it didn’t happen but the video is a waste of time.

So the death threats by police against an innocent civilian do not bother you? I'm stunned.

"..they have the "right" to talk amongst themselves.." Which planet are living on? They have the right to conspire to murder a citizen of Missouri and publish their conspiracy world-wide.

I live in Spain but have friends in England and Germany who are equally appalled by this. They ask how could this happen in America and not be arrested and charged.

Isn´t the idea of a Police force to Protect and Serve not to conspire to harass and kill those that expose their wrongdoing.

You try plotting harassment and murder on FR like this, and tell them you have the right.

"STL_FINEST" wrote in reply to "Who is this terd:

_ "I hope this little POS punk bastard tries his little video stunt with me when I pull him over alone- and I WILL pull him over - because I will see "his gun" and place a hunk of hot lead right where it belongs."

Who is STL_FINEST?

Why is he still carrying a gun?

Another message from a self-identified Saint Louis area police officer appears to condone official harassment of the twenty-year-old motorist.

“Take the kid to jail... today... tomorrow... the next day... every time you see him out and he commits a traffic violation... tow his car and take him to jail... period. No arguing, no yelling.....nothing but the sound of cash leaving his wallet from impound fees and fines.”

Like Straight Vermonter, I too am stunned.

Also be a good idea to rotate drivers. Other wise the other driver will be targeted just as much as Mr. Darrow.

I’m not saying it didn’t happen but the video is a waste of time.

The video is certainly not a waste of time, in view of the threats shown in my previous post.

See what the video shows:

The stakeout proves that these are not idle threats.

Yesterday morning two police officers from St Louis, parked near Brett´s home, which is in a cul-de-sac, to survey, intimidate or worse. Was STL_FINEST in car 65 to carry out his intention to murder Brett?

Who sent them?

Who were they?

Simple matters matters for the authorities to discover if they are so inclined. The video supported the fact that the intended victim once again turned the tables on these police predators as they fled his camera and illegally ran a red light then did a U turn without using their emergency lights and siren as required by Missouri law.

In their panic to escape the camera lens, these craven conspirators put other people’s lives at risk to save their cowardly hides from discovery.

Profiles in courage - I think not.

If these are St Louis Finest – the bar must be very low – like 40 feet below the town´s trash dump.

I should point out that each cop participating in this conspiracy to harass and murder could be in jeopardy.

I will later be writing to:

Jay Nixon, Attorney General Missouri
Catherine L. Hanaway, United States Attorney Eastern District of Missouri

With copies to:

cc. Hon. Matt Brunt, Governor of Missouri
cc. Senator Christopher S. Bond
cc. Senator Claire McCaskill
cc. Francis G Slay, Mayor, City of St. Louis
cc. U:S Department of Justice.
cc:

It is sad to see so many Americans acquiesce to police intimidation and make pathetic excuses for their inaction.

As TigersEyes so aptly puts it: “May your chains rest lightly upon you.”

Will any American join me in keeping the spotlight on this blatant terrorist threat to a citizen of the State of Missouri, by a member of the St Louis Police Department?
