If I thought it were possible, I might be on the Hunter bandwagon, too. Republican primaries generally don’t the have upsets and topsy-turvyfights the Dems do. Since 1980, our candidates have really been predictable years beforehand.

Everyone knew it’d be Reagan in ‘84, Bush in ‘88, again in ‘92, Dole in ‘96, and 43 in 2000 and 2004. Compare to the Dems. Wasn’t Hart the front runner in ‘88? Whatever happened to Tsongas in 1992? If the trend in January 2004 had held up, it’d been Dean getting beat in the general election.

The fact that our primary is so contested this year is unusual. The closest thing we’ve got to the predictable candidate is Rudy. Realistically, if there’s any chance to keep him from getting the nomination, the base needs to get behind one strong candidate. That’s why I support Fred.

I for one will not roll over and let others decide for me who the candidate will be this time. I have the power of the voice, and the vote, just like anyone else. I will work as hard as I know how for Duncan Hunter. I am going to do that today. I’m loaded down with Hunter flyers, and am going to Cincinnati to the Gun Rights Policy Convention and am going to talk about Duncan Hunter until I’m hoarse! It is possible to have Hunter for our candidate, we just have to get off our butts, and get out and work. And if we can’t get out, we can talk to everyone we know, and some we don’t know! It is worth the effort. He will be a wonderful President!

“Everyone knew it’d be Reagan in ‘84, ..”

But that was the SECOND TIME Reagan ran. Duncan Hunter is running for the first time for POTUS.

Here’s what happened the first time Reagan ran:

“As late as March of 1980 it wasn’t sure that President Reagan would win the nomination and he was 25 points behind Carter in the national polls. But conservatives kicked up their efforts, won the nomination and won the election in a landslide. We can do it again. It won’t be easy. But it will be well worth the effort.”

From the link: “.. But conservatives kicked up their efforts, ..”

So let’s do it AGAIN, conservatives. Contribute to Duncan Hunter’s campaign, call a talk show, write a letter to the editor and include Hunter’s website,
