Lord knows I like that fellow... Godspeed Mr. Hunter...
Looks like keeping Hunter from the debate is going to backfire on the libs and moderates.
In addition to Josh Romney, who has visited the state four times and owns a ranch in Sweetwater County, Lynne Hunter, wife of U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter from California, was the other family member of a candidate to attend the convention.
The 177 voting members gave 89 written ballots to Romney’s representative, Leigh Vosler, while Thompson received 39 votes; Hunter received 30 votes; former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, 12 and Texas Rep. Ron Paul, seven.
Charles and Barbara Roll of Cheyenne , meanwhile, were carrying Duncan Hunter banners as they waited to register.
“He has character to the tip of his toenails,Barbara Roll said.
The couple also mentioned Hunter’s strong support for defense, jobs and families.
Lynne Hunter told the party members that her husband will know how to serve as the nation’s chief executive because of his experience from 26 years in Congress.
She noted that people say Hunter cannot win.
“Don’t let the press pick your candidate, she said.
