Obama's speech was simply exceptional

"Politics is, at the end of the day, about ideas and philosophy, not simply rhetoric. But, as all the great presidents have shown, rhetoric matters, too. Beyond that, Hillary Clinton is a conventional liberal, as is Obama; the difference is that Obama is a graceful and dignified person who draws people to him rather than drives them away. He is impossible to dislike."

Obamasama still reminds me of several friends of mine who are incredibly likeable yet have felony convictions.

Jus' a matter of time.

I’ve never heard him say anything memorable. He just spouts off empty neomarxist rhetoric.

He has the power to persuade and inspire. I wish he were a conservative.

Only when he bashed the Clintons. Otherwise nothing memorable about it.

Yeah, I know but I would be eternally grateful to the man if he could drive stakes through the hearts of those two traitor Clintons.

I don’t think he’s impossible to dislike. I refuse to be suckered in to all this feeling an emotion nonsense. He is an inherently bad person imo, because the things liberals want and believe in are inherently bad, and not what makes this country great.

Be careful what you wish for. If either Barack or the Hildabeast is elected President we are effed big time.

he is a good speaker but says nothing. He doesn’t personally impress me because what he says is void of any substance. Bill Clinton is of the same ilk.

If a Republican had given that speech (and in terms of content with one or two exception a Republican could have) that person would have FReepers swooning.

There seems to be some serious dissonance at FR regarding the desire to see Hillary defeated and the debate between whether an Obama is a Hillary would be easier to defeat in a general election.

Given the Democratic turnout compared to the Republican turnout in all of the primaries to date, there is an awful big likelihood that we are not going to have a Pubbie in the White House. Perhaps things will change, but I am not holding my breath.

The ultimate question is who is more acceptable.

In terms of pure inspiration and an end to dynasty, Osama is perhaps the better choice. If one really, truly cares about policy though, the pure reality is that Hillary is a lot less liberal than Obama. Certainly more evil, but less liberal. Moreover, the GOP would gain more traction opposing the policies of a President Clinton than a President Obama.

On the other hand, that would also mean more of the same.

Do I seem confused?

Do not underestimate Obama. Obama has charisma, but we have to stick to the issues , because there is a huge difference between Conservatives and Obama. A HUGE difference.

I’m hoping Obama beats Hillary in the primaries, but the Democrat superdelegates deliver the nomination to her anyways.
Then she goes down to historic defeat in November, and the Clintons are finally politically exorcised, trashing the Democrat party and their legacy on their way out.

I’ve heard him say SEVERAL memorable things...like with the money spent on Iraq every bridge and every road in this WHOLE country could be repaired!

That kind of sheer idiocy simply boggles my mind!

In fact, just thinking about the numbers now...not even the cost mind you, but just the sheer number AMOUNT of bridges and roads...

Obama has always seems like a geeky technocrat to me. Why people think he's so exciting is beyond me.

But then again, I think Mitt Romney is a plastic banana, too.

I think your hope will be fulfilled. Before tonight I was certain the Machine would negate actual votes in the bizarre nominating process that is present in the Dem Party. After watching Obama's speech, followed by Clintons (Both of them) typical whinny and oblivious speeches, I am changing my mind.

I think this guy can actually beat her and, if he does, and if he’s facing an anachronism like McCain, he could win it all.
