During the sixties when hippies protested against the police, the police were know to say: if you need help call a hippy.
Those of you old enough to remember the PIG term given to police and the officers started wearing pins that said: pride, integrity and guts.
Leading up to Berkley, if they are so intent on removing the military from their presence, may be when they are in need in that commie community, they can just call code pink.
I wish I were cleaver enough to come up with some slogan that states that.

Protesters have perfected their tactics, on both the right and left. Pro-life protesters use the same techniques.

Get a one-foot length of metal pipe, either cast iron or galvanized, big enough to slip your hand into it, and then you and your fellow protester join hands and cuff yourselves together inside the pipe. Police and firefighters can’t cut the pipe with a power saw or a torch without injuring someone. So it’s slow work.

We also don’t know that it’s a federal building — around here, recruiting stations are often in leased space in strip malls. I have no specific knowledge, but I assume it’s similar nationwide.

The Marines have estabished a foothold, now they must expand the perimeter. An M1A1 in Code Pink’s dedicated parking spot would be a good start. All prisoners should be waterboarded (to the non-hygienically-challenged it’s called a shower!)

Withdraw the Marines. It’s a quagmire, I tellya.

The heck with that. Send the Marines in, arrest the chief of police and any officer that interferes, and clean code pick a new clock.

“Withdraw the Marines. It’s a quagmire, I tellya.”

Marines don’t withdraw. Marines kill the enemy with extreme prejudice.

Watch and see what happens if any Marine within 100 miles of Bezerkly is attacked. The fury of an unleashed “dungaree liberty” makes “shock and awe” look like a church social.

Only participated in one and there were over 50 casualties - on one ship.

The first part of 4b.14

To: Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council

From: Peace and Justice Commission

Submitted by:Steve Freedkin, Chairperson

Subject: Marine Recruiting Office in Berkeley

RECOMMENDATION

(1) Direct the City Attorney to investigate and report back to Council within 60 days on

City options for enforcing Chapter 13.28 of the Berkeley Municipal Code, prohibiting

discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, with respect to military recruiting

offices in Berkeley;

(2) direct the City Manager to send letters to the Marine Corps Recruiting Station at 64 Shattuck Avenue and to General James T. Conway,

Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, advising them that the Marine recruiting office is not welcome in our city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders; and

(3) encourage all people to avoid cooperation

with the Marine Corps recruiting station, and applaud residents and organizations such
as Code Pink, that may volunteer to impede,
passively or actively, by nonviolent means,

the work of any military recruiting office located in the City of Berkeley.

FISCAL IMPACTS OF RECOMMENDATION

Staff time to research the City’s options for enforcing Chapter 13.28 of the Berkeley

Municipal Code, discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, with respect to military recruiting offices in Berkeley.

I think that the Army, Navy and Air Force need to establish recruiting centers in Berkeley as well.

Wouldn’t the fact that it was a recruiting station make at least that part of the building federal???

I’m curious, has anyone read anything about how many potential recruits come to the recruiting station?

These people are Communists.
They are unchanged from the 1960’s and are enemies (or maybe enemas is a better word for them) of our great nation.

The hate the United States that most of us love.

IANAL, but I suppose that would depend on the terms of the lease. A rental property is under the lease terms and local jurisdiction, unless the lease says otherwise, as far as I know.

Of course, if you have several Marines on the premises, the lease terms are something you want to discuss much, much later.
