Today's Washington Post details a nice example of where feminist sexual harassment hysteria (combined with a litigious society) leads:
"In his seven years, Randy Castro has been an aspiring soccer player, an accomplished Lego architect and a Royal Ranger at his Pentecostal church. He also, according to his elementary school record, sexually harassed a first-grade classmate.
"During recess at his Woodbridge school one day in November, when he was 6, he said, he smacked the classmate's bottom. The girl told the teacher. The teacher took Randy to the principal, who told him such behavior was inappropriate. School officials wrote an incident report calling it 'Sexual Touching Against Student, Offensive,' which will remain on his student record permanently.
"Then, as Randy sat in the principal's office, they called the police...
"Randy is only one of many children to be dealt with harshly as schools across the country grapple with enforcing new zero-tolerance sexual harassment policies and the fear of litigation.
"The Virginia Department of Education reported that 255 elementary students were suspended last year for offensive sexual touching, or 'improper physical contact against a student.' In Maryland, 166 elementary school children were suspended last year for sexual harassment, including three preschoolers, 16 kindergartners and 22 first-graders, according to the State Department of Education. Statistics for the District were not available.
"In 2006, a kindergartner in Hagerstown, Md., was accused of sexual harassment after pinching a female classmate's buttocks. A 4-year-old in Texas was given an in-school suspension after a teacher's aide accused him of sexual harassment for pressing his face into her breasts when he hugged her.
"Ted Feinberg, assistant director of the National Association of School Psychologists in Bethesda, said he had never come across a case of sexual harassment in elementary school in his three decades in the schools. To label somebody a sexual harasser at 6 'doesn't make sense to me,' he said. 'Kids can be exploratory in behavior, they can mimic what they see on TV.'"
The "sexual harassment in schools" hysteria began in the early '90s, and I was a teacher at the time and I remember it well. There was a directive to the administration at the high school where I was teaching to lay down the law on sexual harassment, so the Dean of Discipline went from class to class giving a ringing speech about sexual harassment.
I liked him personally, but he was a law & order type and would go overboard sometimes. I remember listening to him giving a threatening lecture to my class--correction, to the boys in my class--about sexual harassment. The definition was so wide and vague (including "looks") that practically any boy could have been penalized under it if a girl wanted to bring him down.
Afterwards I said to the guy, "The definition of sexual harassment seems pretty broad. The boys can get in trouble just for looking at the girls, but some of the girls are doing everything they possibly can to make the boys want to look at them."
His reply was predictable--"Those are the guidelines we've been told to enforce."
The policies detailed in the Washington Post are vastly more absurd than this, since they deal with elementary school boys.

My 5 year old almost got kicked off his bus for saying he wanted to hug a couple of the girls he goes to daycare with.
Good grief....this is so absurd. Damn PC crap...grrrrr!!!

My 3rd grade son ran around the playground earlier this school year and “spanked” a couple of girls. The girls would chase him and then he would chase them again. The teacher saw him and gave him lunch detention and called us. We talked at home. Case closed, we thought. A week later one of the little girls told her mommy who complained and the principal called in my son and was going to give him more punishment. We intervened and said no you are not he has already been punished. Short story, the teacher felt the matter was closed and did not report it so she got in trouble. My son got no more. The saving grace here is that his partner in crime was his best friend the superintendent’s son :).

So, they should play more doctor?
And then they act surprised at the teen pregnancy rate and the sex crime rate reaching dangerous levels.
Still, by the standard of a few bad apples ruining the whole pot...things get out of hand and become absurd, imo.
That was just a taste of what you will be subjecting your child and yourself to should you place the child into Public Education.
Do a cost analysis, include your level of taxation, what daycare costs, and the time involved to “deprogram” your child from public schooling every evening,
and you might find that one income and homeschooling will be well worth it.
YOur handle is Resolute Conservative. By that you are claiming to be intelligent and thoughtful, probably all true, so why do you have a child in Government School? Unless you are a laid-off dishwasher with a “habit” there are alternatives.
Most of us would reason that if Obama kept his children in Wright’s church, he agreed with and supported what they were being taught there...
Same could be said about government schools.
Before y’all jump to any conclusion about this, ask yourself if you’d want your daughter’s private parts grabbed on the school bus or in a school hallway.
You have no idea how precocious some of these children are. Perhaps they themselves have been molested at home. Somehow they know what goes where and they act it out. There are children this age doing what Clinton did in the oval office and worse.
Why is it any of your business?
This is part of the Marxist plan. To succeed the Marxists can't have a nation of self confident and capable men. They need weenie wusses, if they are to succeed.
There is a war against boys in our government schools. I see that no one has told you.
Well?....I concluded that little girls shouldn't be sent into the government schools indoctrination camps either!

For Marxism to succeed they need:
1) emasculated weenie wusses for men.
2) Single moms and fatherless children by the millions.
My 3 boys fight the system and are all boy/men. I am a throw back to a manlier time. I open doors for ladies, I take my hat off indoors, I am not afraid to profess my faith and try hard to live it, I work hard every day even if I am sick, I coach baseball, I hunt and fish as much as possible, I am a sexist in a good way, I teach my boys to fight and love, I am not politically correct and call a spade a spade, and no person lays hands on me, my family, or those who cannot fend for themselves.
