When you throw in the fact that 20% of Obama's people won't vote for Hillary, and 20% of Hillary's people won't vote for Obama, you're probably right. It is a very strange election, like a horse race in which all the jockeys have been paid to throw the race.

So, the candidates come staggering down the home stretch, with all of them committing gaffes, making errors, and doing whatever they can to lose. Yet, one of them WILL win, despite best efforts to avoid that fate.

If McCain went home to Arizona, and sat in his living room watching the Shopping Channel until after the election, he would win in a walk. However, it looks like he will bet out there and start making mistakes after the Republican Convention. Like the original New York Mets, he'll make it interesting.

No, the true believers will never change, no matter what bubbles to the surface. But there is a large population of Hillary voters and independents who are not among the bewitched, and who may still have enough critical judgment to see this a-hole for what he is.
