Today, at one past midnight, I have seen the latest Indiana Jones movie.
Like many among you, I presume, I was a fan of that American raider travelling all over the world to look for treasures.
A BIG warning : the latest Indy is absolutely AWFUL. This is the worst thing you can imagine. Actors are nuts, there are so many special effects even when Spielberg said he wouldn't use them, the screeplay is ridiculous.
This is a nightmare, and I really encourage fans to boycott it. This is a shame, far away from the original Indiana Jones trilogy.
Even Ford seems to not believe in the crap he is playing in. Not to say the ghost Shia Lebeouf, whose performance is pathetic.
The first 30 minutes are great. But when Jones begins to look for the Krystal Skull, all the movie collapses.
Beware, big failure ahead.
Mainstream media is supporting it only to support a failing industry like Hollywood. But this... thing should deserve below zero star.
Indiana Jones will be forever a trilogy, and this thing will be forgotten. Shame on Spielberg and Lucas to have produced such horror.
Well, I won’t argue with a fan. You believe I’m wrong, go ahead. Good luck. You have been warned.
The big thing between you and me is that I already saw it and I never thought I would like to get out of the theatre before the end of an Indiana Jones movie.
Let’s wait until tomorrow, when you will probably reach the same conclusion.
Mehanwhile, I’m gonna watch “the Raiders of the Lost Ark” to be reminded how Indy was pure fun, ONCE.

Feh. "Matrix 3" was far worse.
Speaking of bad movies and fan disappointment: "Godzilla" in 1998. Horrid. MST3K material!
LMAO. Your credibility ends when you have to use the words "French press" to bolster your argument.
Rotten Tomatoes, which is an average of major reviewers from all over the country, is at 77%. And Box Office Mojo, pretty tough crowd, gave it an A-. Pretty high marks for the suckfest you claim it to be.
My wife walked in from work just at the right time. I was getting really disgusted with the show, then she comes home. It gave me a good reason to turn off the TV and clear my mind of that senseless mush.
There are ALWAYS fans whining about the latest version, that’s part of having a successful franchise. The day you stop having people say it was the worst installment ever is the day no one actually went to see the thing. The question isn’t IF some people are going to say it’s the worst ever, it’s what percentage and do they actually have a clue. All the reliable sources say this Indy is at least OK, better than 2 and at least no worse than 3, clearly not as good as the first but that was never an option really.
I suppose it is possible to miss the fact that these movies are parodies — all of them — but I can’t see how.
The Ark of the Covenant sought by Nazis as a WMD? Did you even see the second movie, the one about the magic rocks?
I didn’t think so.
The big difference is that YOUR sources are journalists.
I’m an average viewer, close to Indy fans, and we are not disappointed, we are depressed.
In the movie, Leboeuf is playing in the jungle with monkeys. It’s humiliating.
And for the LAST time, I have seen the movie today at 12.01, as it was released on the night of the 20-21 in France (midnight).
Y’all trying to find compelling sources to tell me I’m wrong.
You still don’t get that it could be fans of Indy, average fans, average theater viewer who loved the latest Batman, Rocky, Rambo, Die Hard, and couldn’t wait for the latest Indy.
But... it... atrocious. Really. And despite the first 30 minutes, it is not funny at all.
LOL. Do you even realize how childish and foolish you are sounding, my FRiend? You are bitter, not just depressed. You do realize this is just a movie? You do know you have a choice how to react to something? You don't like the film, why let that get you down? Why be depressed? Why would you even allow a movie to effect you for this long a time? It stunk for you, it's over, tomorrow is another day, the Sun shines. It's a wonderful real world out there. Grab some friends, take a long walk, and enjoy what good life has to offer! :)
Geriatric Jones and the Depends of DOOM!!!!
What kind of idiots do we have here ? I should have guessed that I was talking to an old stupid monkey.
We are talking about Indy IV here, and yes, there were people who waited for this movie for a while. I wasn’t among them, but I respect them.
I’m more worried here about the low quality of work Spielberg and Lucas proposed us and wonder how these two people could scorn the audience with such arrogance.
But the only answers I gad was from the same old monkey who proposed his point of view even when he hadn’t seen the movie. What a jerk.
The big difference is you’re one random largely expected anonymous voice in the wilderness, and these other guys tie their names and livelihoods to their opinion of movies.
I don’t know where your “for the last time” comes from, I didn’t question whether you actually saw it, I’m questioning whether your opinion is worth the bytes it’s written on.
I know, I admitted my error.
I'm still going to see it at 12:01 though. There's no reason for Indy fans to boycott an Indy movie. Some people liked it, others not. I'll let you know how I thought it came out.
However, I've seen snippets of Ford in action in the film, and I'm excited about seeing him in the role again.
Thats the stripper spelling.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: A Great Summertime Kickoff
How did they portray this and is the movie in general overly political?
How did they portray this and is the movie in general overly political?
It's not overly political.
Mild Spoiler Alert
Indy is under suspicion because one of his cohorts and friends ended up being a double agent for the KGB. In the opening scene, he's kidnapped by the Soviets and forced to help them.
The FBI then put him on a "person of interest list". The FBI pressures the university to fire him, but they settle for indefinite leave with pay pending an investigation.
Jim Broadbent, who plays the dean of the university, has one line where he says "they're seeing Reds everywhere". That's about all the politics there is.
The suspension is more of a plot device to get him out of the classroom so he can go off and adventure.
Indy does have a good one liner where he confirms his patriotism with a rather famous saying about a certain Republican president.
All this happens in the first 20 minutes of the movie.
