They expended virtually all their energy on him, and hardly looked in the direction of Nixon or Wallace. The REAL enemy was another Democrat who was not as far to the kook-left as they were. It is not an exaggeration to credit Nixon's (thin) victory in '68 to the efforts of the Weathermen, the Yippees, et al.
