I'm not sure where to publish this so I put it in Personal and Misc.
This is a link to a sermon that Sam Thomsen (one of the Scouts that died in the Little Sioux tornado) wrote and delivered to his church. He wanted to be a minister. He was my son's patrol leader.
Here is another link to a page about all of the Scouts that died.
Please remember them and their families in your prayers.
A good lesson as to how some earn their way into Heaven at a much younger age than the rest of us.
Thank you for posting the link.
All scouts both old and young are saddened by this. I got my Eagle 38 yrs ago today. I was 13yrs old, the same age as most of these young men. My late in life baby (6yrs old) will be a Tiger this fall.
I saw that they are raising money to rebuild the camp and also to put in a storm shelter at the camp, if anyone is interested in donating. Prayers for these families. One of the boys lived within a couple miles of me.

sorry for the multiples....
I just put my youngest (first class) in a van to go rafting with his troop about an hour ago. He'll be doing his Scoutmaster conference and board of review on the trip. He was just confirmed a month ago, and he'll be turning fourteen next Thursday.
He was my "miracle" also, and I considered naming him Samuel which as you know, means "I have asked him of the Lord."
Try as best you can to hear the St. Olaf Choir rendition of "Here I am Lord." Warning though, it makes me cry even if I'm NOT sad, but it's one of the most beautiful things ever recorded.
I must also recommend "When God Doesn't Make Sense" by Dr. James Dobson. I always try to have a copy in the house, but I end up lending it out and not getting it back, which is okay, because the wisdom is SO profound.
Thanks agan for posting this. You and the families of the fallen Scouts are in my prayers.
Fallen Scout Ping.
Very moving. Thank you so much for including me on the ping. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
..although young physically, I think Sam was seasoned with the Lord ....all is well with this young man.
TANKS...Prayer BTTT!...
Thanks for the ping. Screen’s blurry just now...
My heart hurts for the families of these boys. It is hard to read and look at their sweet smiling face without tears.
Thank you for the ping OTAC, and thank you for taking the time to post this ACN.
Wow... I can’t get over the first part of this young man’s sermon, indeed, the entirety of it. All I can think of is that it was prophetic in some ways, and is a lesson to all.
Prayers continue for all...
Thank you. This is so tragic. These are truly great young men. My grandson goes to ST. Olaf.
God bless you and your own Scout .....
Prayers continue for the families and loved ones of the Scouts who died....
This one - this sermon from this scout - is so amazing...tears here too!
Wow.
I have been so proud of the response of those scouts who rendered aid.
Now I’m proud of one who wasn’t around to do so.
Just Wow.
