Could this be what you’re thinking:

Maybe Obama really does have a secret past. Maybe he really is a covert radical muslim jihadist, but electing him president would not really be a problem.

Maybe Obama secretly supports al qaeda, but at the same time he would be just fine for president, wouldn’t try anything sinister, and we can all enjoy our journey into Utopia with him.
